Gamers Lounge Ep 128 – Moonstone the Game Episode 128 has Gamers Lounge returning to the air. This episode focuses on an interview with the creators of Moonstone the Game. Moonstone is a character driven skirmish game currently on Kickstarter. Bill has checked this out and it’s a very cool game overall. Gamers Lounge Ep 127 – Kickstarter Threeway Episode 127 is releasing a little late but is chock full of good content! We open the show with a lounge talk featuring Spencer, Bill, and long time friend of the show and one time listener Atlanta Mike. We cover a load of games including a litany of board games Atlanta Mike has been introducing his new crew to. We also get some advice on the “flow of games” to use when building up a non-board-gaming group toward Kingdom Death Monster. Our main segment for the show is talking about Kickstarter. Spencer is not a fan of kickstarter, Atlanta Mike is a moderate fan but has dived into a couple, and Bill “may have a problem” if you believe the other two. We go through the guys reasons for using kickstarter (or not), experiences on kickstarter (good and bad), and overall thoughts. We also have questions from the Twitter featuring Dr. Loxley’s speed round. Another challenger showed up by Dr. Loxley still brought the speed round questions for the win! Then Atlanta Mike delivers a very smooth outro, making our intrepid hosts look bad overall. Gamers Lounge Ep 125- Guild Ball Tournaments Episode 125 arrives with some last minute recording to pad out the show. We open with the traditional Lounge Talk where Spencer and Bill cover the happenings over the past couple weeks. Bill runs a question past Spencer that then gets covered again in it’s own segment later in the show. Segment 2 is a Gamers Lounge on the road segment. Dixon and Bill are returning from a Guild Ball tournament and spend a solid amount of time discussing how the event went. Please excuse the road noise but enjoy the GPS! Bill returns from a weekend playing at the Bourbon Trail Open Guild Ball tournament and the boys kick things off with a lengthy lounge talk. Bill touches on the tournament, Spencer touches on his painting progress for Adepticon, and they both get caught up on the recent goings on. Also a great story about Mat Hart of Guild Ball fame. Following the Lounge Talk the boys dive into a Guild Ball tactics discussion. As with everything on the Gamers Lounge, the topic wanders a bit and ends up revolving around sportsmanship, tournament etiquette, and general good play habits. Gamers Lounge Ep 120 – Adepticon Bound Episode 120 has arrived and we’re joined by Mario, famous for Mats by Mars. Spencer, Bill, and Mario start out with a quick introduction then an overview of recent games played. Our primary segment this episode is a discussion of Adepticon. We cover a host of topics such as travel to Adepticon and what our schedules look like. We dip a bit into why we each go to conventions and how those reasons have changed over the years. Spencer reveals a big change for his Adepticon 2016, and then gushes over a little bit of a fanboi moment. After a nice and friendly Adepticon chat Spencer urges Bill to have a bit of a rant on the Guild Ball changes to Gutter. It wanders a bit, it’s not overly coherent, but it’s a rant. Twitter questions brings up the end of the show, rolling directly into the outro. Gamers Lounge Ep 119 – It’s not 4 hours! Gamers Lounge Ep. 119 is a very long episode so strap in and get ready. Spencer and Bill open up with a Lounge Talk touching on Spencer’s recent blood bowl game and a bit of Guild Ball. Bill briefly mentions a recent tournament he TO’d, and we discuss a big demo day Spencer had in his area. Following the lounge talk we dive straight into the first topic of the episode. Ben from the Guild Ball Ranking website Black Orifice joins us to respond to some of our comments in ep. 118. Following that we dive into a long conversation about how the rankings site works and the thoughts behind Ben’s choices for the site. After talking about Rankings for an hour Spencer takes a break and Bill is joined by Dave Lee to resume the As Yet Unnamed Wrath of King’s segment. Dave and Bill dive into Shael Han and talk about the army. Spencer returns for the new Twitter Questions segment where we have a speed round from Dr. Loxley, a Guild Ball question from Maurice, and several non-Malifaux questions from Cheated Fates Joe. The boys round out the show with an outro discussing where they’ll be in the next 2 months. Gamers Lounge Ep 118 – Rankings and Nostalgia Gamers Lounge ep. 118 has arrived and is starting to look like the show is back on schedule. Let’s see how this keeps up over the next several months! Spencer and Bill start off talking about Bill’s recent win at the Snow Ball tournament in Philadelphia. Spencer keeps to his promise of making Bill talk about Guild Ball on GL as well as GBT. Following that the boys jump into lounge talk and cover a couple things, including a short discussion on Rankings. This show has a topic of Nostalgia, something Bill has apparently been thinking about for a while. The hosts start talking about if Nostalgia is clouding gamer’s views on what’s good and bad. We then move onto a more positive nostalgia topic of the first model Spencer and Bill each painted, and how their painting has improved since then. Gamers Lounge returns in 2016, kicking things off with episode 117.  We’re returning to a consistent co-host with Spencer joining the show, along with returning to an older Gamers Lounge format. Gamers Lounge Ep 116 – Rivals Kickstarter, New Salem, Guild Ball Gamers Lounge Episode 116 opens with an interview with Chase, creator of Rivals: Masters of the Deep. Rivals is currently a funded Kickstarter, going strong and pushing for new stretch goals. Chase and Bill talk about the games, the Kickstarter, why the original Kickstarter was cancelled and relaunched, and future plans. The second segment has friend of the show Tom joining Bill to talk about the recent Huzzah Hobbies Guild Ball Fall Scrimmage. Tom had his first chance to play Guild Ball at the event and talks about his demo and his games. He also talks a bit about his experience at the event. The show closes out with an in-depth review of New Salem. New Salem is a hidden identify game with Witches and Puritans, very appropriate for the Halloween season. Adam from Cheated Fates Radio joins Bill to review the game, discuss the game play, and give our recommendations. Gamers Lounge Ep 115 – Rise of the Kage, Tekness, Guild Ball Gamers Lounge 115 is chock full of eclectic goodness. We open the show with Bill’s obligatory opening. Oh, and he provides plugs for podcasts including his own… shameless. Following the opening we jump right into a segment with Mrs. Gamers Lounge and Bill talking about Rise of the Kage. This is a first look at the new Ninja stealth board game recently arrived from GCT Studios. The middle of the show has a guest spot by the boys over at Smashed Shins podcast. The Smashed Shins boys give a characterful play-by-play of a recent Guild Ball game. This is so much fun to listen to I had to ask them to share it with the Gamers Lounge listener! Lastly we return with another of the Wrath of Kings segments. This time we’re reviewing the communist pig faction Tekness and how they play. John gives great insight while Bill and Matt take notes on how to beat them.
