Alternative music darling Neko Case performs an acoustic set accompanied by Kelly Hogan on this week’s Mountain Stage with Larry Groce. She’ll sing tunes from her Grammy nominated album “Middle Cyclone,” plus heartland songwriter Greg Brown, a captivating performance by the late Vic Chesnutt, all-vocal ensemble SONOS, plus contemplative rock from Crooked Fingers.
Austin Texas group The Gourds appear on this week’s Mountain Stage with Larry Groce. With a sound that encompases so many styles, The Gourds were predecessors of musc that would come to be called “Americana.” Singer-songwriter Susan Werner tries her hand at great songs from the 1960s and 70s, including ones from Paul Simon, Marvin Gaye and Cat Stevens. You’ll also hear rock groups The Deep Vibration and Backyard Tire Fire, along with folk pioneer Tom Rush.
