This week’s all new Mountain Stage with Larry Groce features a performance from power pop masters Fountains of Wayne, with songs from their latest release Sky Full of Holes. You’ll also hear the blue-eyed, bayou soul of Marc Broussard, along with the powerful vocals of singer-songwriter Grace Weber. Fiddler and singer Amanda Shires brings songs from her new record Carrying Lightning. And you hear an intimate performance from Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee.

Trail blazing New Orleans jazz ensemble the Dirty Dozen Brass band perform on this week's Mountain Stage. You'll also hear from Nashville songwriting institution Darrell Scott, who brings songs from his latest country album. Irish-American supergroup Solas appears, along with singer-songwriter Jimmy LaFave and newcomer Rosi Golan.

This week's Mountain Stage features legendary blues-rock guitarist Johnny Winter, in a rare nationally-broadcast appearance. You'll also hear from living legend Magic Slim, along with his band The Teardrops. Ruthie Foster stops by with her own brand of folk and gospel inspired blues, and you'll also hear from guitarist Patrick Sweany, and newcomer Bhi Bhiman.

This week’s premiere episode of Mountain Stage with Larry Groce features original honky tonk hero Billy Joe Shaver, with songs that span his storied career, plus a few new classics. You’ll also hear from Banjo phenom Noam Pikelny, the first ever recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Blugrass. He brings along an all star band for an innovative set of acoustic music. Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame member Matraca Berg sings a few of her award winning songs, and you’ll also hear from Canadian fiddler April Verch, and the Caleb Klauder Country Band.

Roots rock icon Dave Alvin and his band The Guilty Ones return to Mountain Stage. Youll hear a few his classic tunes, along with songs from his new electric album Eleven Eleven. Jazz and blues master Catherine Russell also stops by, along with her incredible band. Youll also hear from insurgent country and roots rock singer-songwriter Will Hoge, along with folk mainstay Eliza Gilkyson and Boston-based singer-songwriter Catie Curtis.

On this week’s premier broadcast of Mountain Stage with Larry Groce you’ll hear from beloved singer-songwriter Dar Williams, who brings songs from her latest release “In the Time of Gods.” Influential Texas troubadour Ray Wylie Hubbard stops by with tunes from “The Grifter’s Hymnal,” along with newly-reunited power pop pioneers The dB’s. Satirical hijinks from the New Rope String Band are also in store, along with a set from Mountain Stage NewSong Contest winner Arthur Aligood.

Mountain Stage returns to the Virginia and Tennessee Border city of Bristol, the Birthplace of Country Music, to honor the rich history of that town's country music roots. West Coast country icons The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band perform some new tunes plus some old favorites. Grammy winning string band The Carolina Chocolate Drops showcase their two new members and eastern Tennessee's Jill Andrews performs material from her first solo album. Award winning bluegrass vocalist Dale Ann Bradley is joined by Steve Gulley and Kim Fox, and a direct descendant of the original Carter Family, Dale Jett & Hello Stranger, perform in the city where the Carters made some of their earliest recordings.

Pop-rock legend John Oates explores American roots music in a set drawn from his new album Mississippi Mile. You'll also hear from Mountain Stage New Song Contest winner Amber Rubarth, along with Millennial folk band Frontier Ruckus, San Fransisco-based lady rock band Blame Sally, and low-fi blues-rock duo Moreland and Arbuckle.

Country music star Dierks Bentley and the Travelin' McCourys make their way to the Mountain Stage with Larry Groce this week. Bentley's latest is a bluegrass flavored affair called "Up on the Ridge," and he performs songs from it with one of the most recognized groups in bluegrass, the Travelin' McCourys. Also performing is Country Music Hall of Famer and harmonica legend Charlie McCoy, the Gypsy Jazz sounds of the John Jorgenson Quintet, Hot Rod guitar licks from Bill Kirchen and Canadian songwriter Fred Eaglesmith.

Grammy winning singer songwriter Marc Cohn pays tribute to the songs of 1970 in a live performance this week on Mountain Stage with Larry Groce. The "Walkin' in Memphis" singer does an extended set of some of his best known songs and interpretations of songs by Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker and more. Also Tel Aviv born artist David Broza plays music he composed for unpublished poems by Townes Van Zandt, Australian pop singer Kate Miller-Heidke and Austin, TX up and comer Sahara Smith.

Tupelo Mississippi soul-rocker Paul Thorn returns to Mountain Stage this week with his full band and songs from his latest autobiographical CD "Pimps & Preachers." Austin Texas super-group Band of Heathens perform their amped up country-soul music, plus folk-pop singer Kelley Ryan, the soft sounds of Peter Bradley Adams and WV based string Band The Fox Hunt.

Beloved Country Music vocalist Patty Loveless returns to Mountain Stage with Larry Groce this week with songs from her second album of country classics "Mountain Soul TWO." Grammy winning songwriter Loudon Wainwright performs a tribute to Charlie Poole and some songs for the new depression. Plus Bluegrass fan favorites The Grascals, California alt-country singer Leslie Stevens and songwriter Pieta Brown.

Self-made Indie-superstar Ani DiFranco can be heard performing live on this week's Mountain Stage with Larry Groce. Also on the bill are Trombone Shorty and New Orleans Aveneue, a rising funk group out of Louisiana, songwriter Erin McKeown, pop-rocker Chuck Prophet and finger style guitarist and You Tube sensation Andy McKee.

Memphis rockers Lucero bring a raucous set to Mountain Stage with Larry Groce this week. The group performs songs from their major label debut “1372 Overton Park.” New-Grass pioneer Sam Bush drops by with an all-star band and songs from his latest “Circles Around Me.” Central Virginia country-rockers Sons of Bill, Mid-western mainstays The Bottle Rockets, and West Virginia luminaries Bud Carroll & the Southern Souls round out this week’s line-up.

This week on Mountain Stage with Larry Groce you’ll hear some of the Americana genre’s pioneers and brightest stars in live performance. Long-time Texas songwriter Robert Earl Keen performs songs from his latest CD “The Rose Hotel.” Underground Texas hero Ray Wylie Hubbard is joined by his son Lucas and the Mountain Stage band for a set that mixes humor and humanity as only Hubbard can. Plus music performed by Banjo innovator Danny Barnes, songwriter extraordinaire Darrell Scott, and throw-back country singers The Sweetback Sisters.
