In this podcast, Gloria Morrison, co-founder of a campaign group to stop these abuses, talks about what Joint Enterprise is, and why and how the law needs to change. Third Party Harassment – when call centre workers get abuse from their customers – it is a big problem. Yet the government wants to dilute legal protection that currently exists in England, Scotland and Wales, and in Northern Ireland, where the issue seems most acute, there is no dedicated law on this at all. In this podcast, Simon Sapper discusses the problem – and the remedies to it – with Northern Ireland Telecom branch member Sadie Fulton and CWU National Equal Opportunities Officer Linda Roy.
The Robin Hood Tax Campaign seeks to inject over £8bn a year into public spending in the UK by imposing a very modest tax on certain types of financial transactions undertaken only by businesses, not individuals. There was an important breakthrough in the campaign at the end of January. CWU Assistant Secretary Simon Sapper talks to RHT Director David Hillman to find out more.
