 Moms 211: Food Tank - www.MealMakeoverMoms.com | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:43:44

On this week's show, we take a close look at our nation's food system. What's working --- and what's not --- and we talk to the co-founder of a new organization called, Food Tank. Food Tank aims to bring light and solutions to today's often broken food system. Here's how Food Tank describes itself: The global food movement grows from the kitchens, gardens, and farms of the countless citizens who have committed to making healthy, sustainable choices about cultivating and consuming food. Food Tank exists to amplify these voices. Our food system is broken. Some people don't have enough of food, while others are eating too much. There's only one way to fix this problem and it starts with you and me. Our guest, Danielle Nierenberg, joins us to shed light on the everyday things we can all do to make our food system stronger and more sustainable. For more information, visit the Moms' website and blog at http://www.mealmakeovermoms.com.

 Moms 210: College Kids Cook - www.MealMakeoverMoms.com | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:31:14

Both of us were graduate students at Boston University, so the school is near and dear to our hearts. We also get a lot of smart and talented nutrition interns from B.U. including Bianca who spent some time with us last summer. It turns out that when Bianca isn't interning, she's a full-time student at B.U. who also happens to work part time for the Sargent Choice Test Kitchen. On this week's show, we dish about the SC Test Kitchen, which brings college students together each week to talk, cook, taste, and learn and where new and nutritious recipes are tested out before ending up (or not ending up) in the B.U. dining halls. We also share a recipe for Penne with Roasted Tomatoes, Garlic, and White Beans. For more information, visit the Moms' website and blog at http://www.mealmakeovermoms.com.
