On Saturday August 6th 2011, The Myths Ghosts & Legends team along with Goosebumps Paranormal descended on Vectis Radio`s HQ building for an in-depth ghost investigation. Bob and Carol Bridgestock brought along the winners of the Wight Fair Writers Circle Crime & Intrigue Short Story Writing Competition to Vectis Radio. This fantastic competition has inspired a large number of Islanders to try their hand at writing with some excellent results. The three 1st place winners, Michelle Moore (Adult Category), Heidi Hamilton (Under 18s Category) and Hannah Benford (Under 12s) talked about their stories and the inspiration behind them. James Mclaren, lead guitarist and vocalist from the sensational band `til Dusk came in to chat to us about the latest happenings with the band! The guys are currently enjoying huge success as a support act for internationally renowned stars like Status Quo, Toploader and Roger Daltrey. James found his first electric guitar in the loft years after his father vowed to give up the instrument to raise him. Known for his raven hair and chilled yet volatile off stage persona, James is ambitious, driven and not easily satisfied, since it took him a long time to find the right band members. He has previously had some great teachers of music and is influence by Rock, Country and Blues. Jimi plays the role of main songwriter and lead guitarist and keeps the band loaded with fresh ammo. The focus for this show was sexuality and lies. Interestingly, whilst sifting through the problems we had been sent, both Karin and I discovered that the topics actually go hand in hand. We heard from people in varying stages of coming to terms with who and what they are or want to be and, sadly, some of whom are living a lie for the sake of other people. We both agreed that its a crying shame that, in many cases, religion was the root of angst rather than a comfort or a source of guidance for some of these confused individuals.
