This week, IDP activism director Adreanna Limbach interviews Stuart Moody and Beth Terry of the Green Sangha, a San Francisco Bay Area based group working to advance spiritually grounded environmental activism. This is the third of a three part interview. Stuart Moody received a B.S. in Conservation of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley, and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at USF. As an experienced somatic educator, he teaches yoga and co-directs teacher training for the Bay Area education group Young Imaginations. With Green Sangha, Stuart initiated the Rethinking Plastics Campaign in Marin County, which has been a major force in raising civic awareness of the plague of plastic pollution. Beth Terry blogs at myplasticfreelife.com about ways to reduce plastic waste and plastic consumption. On her blog, she tracks her own plastic waste each month, ever seeking to decrease its amount, and writes about the plastic-free alternatives she finds. Beth is a board member of Green Sangha, an adviser to the Plastic Pollution Coalition, and a contributing editor to BlogHer, the web site for women who blog.

In this episode, ID Project Board Chair Ellen Scordato interviews Martine Batchelor. This is the second of a two part interview. Martine Batchelor was ordained as a Buddhist nun in Korea in 1975. She studied Zen Buddhism under the guidance of the late Master Kusan at Songgwang Sa monastery until 1984. She later returned to Europe where she was a member of the Sharpham North Community in Devon, England as well as a lecturer and spiritual counsellor at Gaia House. She is the author of several books, including "Women in Korean Zen," "Let Go: A Buddhist Guide to Breaking Free of Habits," and her latest book "The Spirit of the Buddha." Martine currently lives in France with her husband Stephen Batchelor, with whom she co-leads meditation retreats worldwide.

This week, IDP Prison Project Coordinator Michael Carey interviews Kinloch C Walpole Abbot of the Gateless Gate Zen Center in Gainesville Florida. They discuss Kinloch's involvement with the prison population including his work facilitating meditation while inside prison as well as facilitating reentry after prison. Michael also speaks with members of Abbot Walpole's program about their experiences inside and out of prison. This is the second of a two part interview. Michael Carey is the coordinator for the IDP's Prison Project. He is the director of the College Initiative, a non-profit reentry education organization that supports formerly incarcerated people in their pursuit of higher education. Kinloch C. Walpole is the abbot of the Gateless Gate Zen Center in Gainesville, Florida. Trained in Zen under the instruction of Zen Master Bon Haeng (Mark Houghton), he is the dharma heir of Zen Master Seung Sahn. Abbot Walpole lives at the Center year round and is very active in its day-to-day activities, making him highly accessible to students. He has developed a distinctive program of study that embraces every aspect of daily life.
