Issues Under Fire

Its been decades since a Black man stepped up on behalf of Black people to challenge America to be America. And that's exactly what Colin Kaepernick is doing. By calling America out so publicly, his protest is putting the country's dirty racist laundry on blast. His protest is telling the world America is not what it pretends to be. Refusing to stand during the national anthem is Kaepernick's way of saying America is not the land of the free, where equality and justice is the norm for all.

Many Black social justice activist today feel they have far more in common with the Palestinian people than they'll ever see again with the Jewish people. And they may have a point, because no other demographic on the planet exist on a lower social strata than the Palestinian people. Like African Americans, they too have no place to run, hide or call home.

Whether it was his intention or not, Colin Kaepernick's protest caught the NFL and America completely off guard. Few thought this issue would heat up and boil over so quickly. It became volatile, divisive and racially charged. Its garnered so much attention thus far, its amazing nobody tried it before now. This kind of "peaceful protest" could make the sort of history you want to be on the right side of. Sadly though, many can't figure out what the right side is just yet. And lets face it, it might be costly to those who pick the wrong one.

Bottom line: If White America is insistent upon engaging in this debate by viciously attacking Colin Kaepernick's chosen method of peacefully protesting the unbridled and unaccountable violence against Black America, it would be helpful if it would provide a logical argument for why other Black athletes entertainers and celebrities shouldn't follow his lead. Bottom line: If Barack Obama's visit to Spain is anything like ours was and he still returns to the States willing to enthusiastically embrace, endorse and campaign for Hillary Clinton, there can be only two explanations for his actions. A. President Obama is as corrupt as everyone else in Washington D.C. is or B. President Obama isn't nearly as bright as he's been credited to be. Laughs all around a murder makes the crime all the more fun to solve.

In a few days, perhaps less, President Obama will embrace, endorse and start campaigning for Hillary Clinton. From all reported accounts, Barack Obama can't wait to make his best case against Donald Trump and the GOP. And as head of the Democratic Party, he'll do just. He'll state with passion how unfit "The Donald" is to be Commander in Chief. He'll tell the nation and the world how dangerous a Trump presidency will be. He'll have clever lines and sharp barbs to get the dummied down electorate all hyped up. So much so, few will remember they're only voting for Hillary Clinton to vote against Donald Trump.

In fact, Party outsiders are forming alliances and planning alternatives to America's corrupt two Party scam, by hooking up with Jill Stein and her Green Party. For many self identified Democrats, Liberals, Progressives and "Others" Hillary Clinton is simply not acceptable and never will be. After reviewing Jill Stein's background and history as well as her Power to the People Plan, she sounds a lot like Bernie. In fact Stein and Sanders' proposals are so politically in sync, one would think they've been collaborating all along.

Bottom line: Muhammad Ali put his career and hundreds of millions in today's dollars on the line and never took a step back. Neither fame, fortune nor even his freedom could shake unique individual from his beliefs. He was a fighting man completely at peace with himself, his decisions and his chosen path in life. And its because of Muhammad Ali, that so am I.

As the tale is currently being told, a bunch of gullible souls begged borrowed and stole, for the opportunity to be educated in the art of making money. They were encouraged to invest in their futures by investing in themselves. Some of these gullible souls were desperate, some were greedy, others weren't very bright. When told the lessons they'd learn would bring them the riches they desired, these gullible souls willingly signed on the dotted line and bought the dream. The Donald Trump dream.

Facing mounting pressure to explain what happened to millions of dollars Trump reportedly raised for America's veterans, "The Donald" called a press conference to give a full accounting of every nickel donated. And he did just that. But, sensing members within the attending press had hidden agendas and looking for a gotcha moment, Trump "went off" on the media's collective ass, by calling out America's so-called Fourth Estate for being as sleazy and corrupt as the American two Party political system. And it worked.

Since only a "Crook" like Hillary Clinton or a "Crazy" like Donald Trump could've gotten this far because American voters weren't paying attention or doing their homework, they must spend some time this summer figuring out how and why they went so wrong. Republican voters must ask themselves, how it was possible that a maniac like Trump could be their last nut standing. And Democrats must ask themselves why Clinton (Queen of Corruption) didn't have more challengers.

While this story has absolutely nothing to do with foreign policy, geopolitical analysis or international affairs (all staples of what we cover around here) it does have a lot to do with the 2016 presidential campaign. When Hillary Clinton became painfully aware Slick Willie had major issues when it came to taking advantage of women, one can only wonder how she processed what her husband's victims went through. She had to know how the powerlessness, the shame and the pain of being forced upon could damage women's spirit beyond repair. She had to know! And if so, when she dismissed Bill's victim's accusations as merely part of a vast right-wing conspiracy, Hillary Clinton enabled Slick Willie.
