The Off Season holds a tight grip on UK Hockey, but teams are working hard in preparation for the next title challenge, and A View from the Bridge returns with Part 1 of their May Off Season Special. Matt Nickerson, Chris Higgins, Colin Shields and Jonathan Boxill all join the lads this month to discuss their preparations for the season ahead. Davy, Neil and Patrick return once again to look over the recruitment of the Giants, the return of many and the arrival of some. This first part of a two part special concentrates on the Giants and their latests signings. We hear from Matt Nickerson, Colin Shields and Jonathan Boxil, while also looking at the return of Craig Peacock, Stephen Murphy, Mark Garside, Andrew Dickson and Jeff Mason. In Part 2, out on Thursday, we will chat with Chris Higgins. We’ll look around the league, deal with your #AskDavy questions and share our anticipation for the NCAA “Friendship Four” Tournament in November.

With the season coming to a close, so brings the final A View From The Bridge of the 2014/15 EIHL season. This week looking back at the Playoff Finals weekend in Nottingham and talking with a very happy Coventry Blaze fan in Craig Summerton. Patrick, Davy and Coach chat one more time this season about how the Giants fared in Nottingham last weekend. They discuss the success of the Coventry Blaze and welcome Craig Summerton to revel in his teams final day glory. Plenty of signing news around the league to discuss, they also pay tribute to Rob Sandrock who announced his retirement from the game. The Belfast Giants have reached the EIHL Playoff Finals weekend in Nottingham. And this weeks A View From The Bridge looks back at the wonderful quarter final performance that took them there. As well as hearing from Carson Chubak, Blaze Coach Chuck Webber and Premier Sports Aaron Murphy. Two dominant performances over the Cardiff Devils bring the Giants into the Final Four and our regular panel of Patrick, Davy and Coach discuss those performances as well as looking at the results from the other 3 quarter finals. Davy talks to Tony Hand about his long and illustrious career upon the announcement of his retirement from on-ice activities. The guys congratulate the Sheffield Steelers on their EIHL championship and discuss just how close the Clan came to taking the title. Mike Kompon talks about his season and his excitement for the playoffs. The IHJUK All Star Teams are announced and we talk over the worth of the recipients. The latest Team GB side gets an eye cast over it. While Andrew Lord joins the podcast to talk of Cardiff’s successes ahead of a crunch Playoff Qualifier weekend against the Giants. The Belfast Giants travelled back from Nottingham with only a single point from the 4 competed for at the NIC and, on this weeks A View From The Bridge, Patrick, Coach and Davy pick over the bones of a somewhat disappointing weekend on Lower Parliament Street. The lads discuss the role of the referees, they also discect the incident regarding the kick out by Colby Cohen and the spear from Cody Brookwell. Braehead Clan’s netminder Kyle Jones chats with Neil “The Coach” Russell about title aspirations and life with the Glaswegian outfit.
