Hot Hatch... Volvo? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:13:26

Luxury, Sophistication, Simplicity and above all Safety… those are all adjectives you might use to describe our featured vehicle tonight. What if we told you, Volvo made a “hot-hatch” ? - A Volvo only known to a few … as the 480. And with us tonight to unpack this mystery car and how they imported it to the US are our new friends (and GTM members) Emily and Nate - and filling in for Brad is special guest co-host Crutch!

Glorious Ladies of Racing - Meet: Chrissy! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:47

This week we have the pleasure of introducing our listeners to one of GTM’s more prominent figures, a member who is always looking out for us; often playing den mother to the team, always carrying a smile and a laugh with her around the paddock, always ready to lend a hand while keeping us sane ... One of our glorious ladies of racing - the one, the only, Chrissy! (This episode is part of our Pit Stop sub-series).  What Should I Buy? - Wagons Edition | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:32

GTM NE region chief Harry is looking for a new car, specifically a wagon, so we thought ... wouldn’t it be fun to rally the troops and play another round of “What Should I Buy?” - WAGONS EDITION! As a note: there’s been a long standing internal debate, let’s call it what it is… an argument... within GTM about the differences between a wagon, hatchback, and lift-back. While some might lump all these cars together, we don’t, and therefore for this episodes purposes to be considered a “wagon” the vehicle must have a “D” pillar. Vehicles like the VW GTI or Subaru Impreza though “wagon-like” are considered Hatch-backs and are disqualified. And with that… let’s get into it.

Track Insurance: Is it worth the price? (Ryan Staub) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:25:45

Safety is always paramount in *any* sport...  and Motorsport is no exception. However for many of us, track insurance is still a hit-or-miss idea. There are a number of us who drive cars “cheap enough” that we feel we can take the risk, and then there are others who drive expensive cars that would financially and emotionally tear them apart if something bad were to happen. Some of our more senior members will tell you, “don’t drive something on track that you can’t afford to walk away from”, well... not everyone shares this viewpoint.  Insurance is a funny thing... and in most cases it’s a necessary evil. It’s something that we all pay for but we also hope we never have to use. And in the world of Motorsports, especially HPDE, there are a few companies out there that may offer track insurance but on this episode we’re going to focus on one specific company, Lockton Motorsports, the original and largest Track Insurance provider in the United States. And joining us from Lockton is Ryan Staub, to educate us on all the intricacies and details surrounding: Track-Day Insurance. And be sure to check the bonus ”Pit Stop” mini-sode on our Patreon.

 We play ... name! - thAT!! - ENGINE!!! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:17

This week we have something extra special planned... we play a round of “name that engine” -- the game where the answers don’t matter, but the points do!  Representing the Red Team is our resident Viking, the Triple-6 and your break/fix host Brad, and playing for the Blue Team is none other than Mountain Man Dan! with Special Guest life-lines Judd G and Brett S.  Here are the rules: We’ll be playing a sound clip anywhere from 6-20 seconds and you’ll need to identify the engine. Answers don’t have to be exact, meaning a specific year or displacement. But the contestant needs to at least identify the manufacturer and number of cylinders, for example ”V10 Lamborghini”, but if they happen to know the specific make/model that will definitely be the most winning answer. Correct answers are worth one point! And at the end the player with the most points will be declared a TRUE PETROL-HEAD and receive some GTM schwag! Want to try your hand? Take our true-petrol head quiz and be entered to win some schwag -https://www.gtmotorsports.org/quiz-name-that-engine/
