It’s not uncommon to see IT branding plastered across the side of race cars in many motorsports disciplines, names like AWS, Crowdstrike, SailPoint and others immediately come to mind. But for Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Artificial Intelligence the relationship between technology and racing goes far beyond stickers and sponsorship dollars. As a crossover between the Break/Fix and Tech Transforms Podcasts, we want to thank Mark and Carolyn for having us on their show to explore this idea.  Tech Transforms: More Than Meets the Eye. Tonight! Tonight! Tonight! In one of the ultimate no-prep showdowns of the year, we attempt to pit Original versus Remake in a best-of “car adjacent” movies drag race! The movie buffs (Steve & Izzy) from “Everything I Learned from Movies” versus the car nerds of Break/Fix! Just like in the movie world, in the car world we often debate: is the newest version “better than the original?” - and in some cases yes, others absolutely not. And for the purposes of this episode, we’re going to focus on both! Car movies that have been remade, reimagined or sequeled. Are they better? And what about the cars they feature?

Our guest is an author and historian with a passion for hidden history, revisionist historical narratives, vintage cars, and the unsung heroes of WWII. His father, a 5-term US Senator from Virginia, his mother the daughter of a renowned Pittsburg born philanthropist, his step-mother a famous celebrity... If you haven’t guessed it by now, we’re honored and excited to have John W. Warner IV on Break/Fix - a former IMSA pro-driver turned gentleman farmer, car collector and passionate petrol-head, to talk about his historical-fiction series “Little Anton”, part satire - part love story, and a dash of espionage  --- and we promised John… we wouldn’t talk about aliens. As automotive enthusiasts, we spend a lot of time researching and modifying our cars in pursuit of better performance.  However, we often tend to overlook our own physical performance and take for granted what it takes to keep performing at a high-level - all day - at a race track. Many of us have felt the “track-day hangover” which to some, can feel like an actual hangover.  Headaches, fatigue, lack of motivation are all signs of dehydration.  Usually day two of a track weekend, you can see the folks in the paddock moving slower, not as energized, not as motivated and just feeling a little off. With us to discuss proper hydration and nutrition techniques is Ken Newbill from Newbill of Health - Holistic Health & Nutrition Consultant

It’s always interesting when you come across a fellow-petrol head, especially a Porsche enthusiast while sitting across a board room table. Not long ago our Pit Stop profile guest Mark Proto and I were ”killing time” before a meeting and came to the realization that we were both car enthusiasts, and Mark has some really interesting stories to share. Today, David speaks fluent German and pushed beyond the day-to-day life of an ECU developer and was able to feed passion for motorsports becoming a Trackside Race Engineer at the Nürburgring. He and his family have returned stateside, and has started an organization called Middleton Innovative Education (aka MIE pronounced like pie) which is looking to revolutionize the way we teach and engage students in science, technology, engineering and math (aka STEM). After attending MIT and majoring in Physics, he moved to Germany and tried to secure a job in the Automotive industry. He didn’t know the language or the people, but he had a dream. There were many days when he wanted to quit. There were many days where he wondered if all the hard work was worth it. His dream and vision seemed so far away, but he learned to persevere and kept going even when it hurt. So with little money but big dreams, he was determined to make it work, #sendit, and ended up landing a job with BOSCH. Awesome & Awkward all at the same time... that’s how I like to describe the ‘90s. Suspension bushings are some of the most highly stressed components fitted to a vehicle (and least talked about). They undergo enormous strains in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication. Having old, tired, broken bushings, or even bushings made of poor quality materials, can cause excessive tire wear, braking instability and poor handling.
