This pamphlet was published in the early 20th century by the United States Rubber Company so that "coming generations of our country ... have some understanding of the importance of rubber in our every day life... We believe the rubber industry will be better off if the future citizens of our country know more about it." Learn about Christopher Columbus's discovery of rubber, how the crafty British entrepreneur, Wickham, managed to smuggle rubber seedlings out of Brazil, and how rubber manufacturing came to be a "peculiarly American industry." The myriad uses of rubber from a century ago are also elaborated in considerable detail - everything from submarines to Keds to dentures. (Summary by Judy Bieber)
The Flicksation Podcast is a bi-weekly film review and discussion show featuring three mid-western fans of film and additional guest panelists from all over the country. Each show features a number of new film reviews, discussions of recent film news and a themed feature DVD pick segment. We don\\\'t set a show time limit, which allows us to really dig into the films that deserve it. We review plenty of the biggest releases, but probably get the most enjoyment talking about all the great small films that may not be on everyone\\\'s radar. If you are a serious fan of film, I think you should give the podcast a shot. We encourage feedback and incorporate plenty of listener e-mails and voice-mails into the show.

Every week we explore at least one facet of 80's pop culture, discuss questions from our listeners, and report the news from at least 4 of the main franchises of the 80's that are still around today!

Reviews, analysis and debate about all things Phish. The format is simple: roundtable semi-structured discussions about shows, tours, songs and more brought to you by the best Phish minds out there. Clips are played to support each topic, typically in the 1-4 minute range. Each episode is usually posted bi-monthly, and lasts about an 75 minutes, give or take. We enjoy when listeners leave comments on the blog, which all panelists monitor feverishly. In addition to the regular cast, typeII often has guests from other Phishy blogs. There is always something new to look forward to.

The objective of “That’s What I Believe” is to explore the potential of conversations between people who are interested in new ideas and the advancement of old. By challenging each other’s thoughts and opinions, we hope to better understand the origin of beliefs. Even though many of us are no longer in school, that is no reason we cannot continue our education. Conversation is not a born ability, but a skill developed over time. It used to be the only way people learned and there is no reason why we cannot maximize the benefits of shared conversation today
