Deborah Jian Lee a journalist and author of the book Rescuing Jesus: How People of Color, Women and Queer Christians are Reclaiming Evangelicalism. She has worked as a staff reporter for the Associated Press, taught journalism at Columbia University, and written for Foreign Policy, Forbes, Slate, Reuters, GOOD, WBEZ, WNYC and others. She is also the co-founder of One Book, One Church, which is a national book club of more than 50 communities reading Rescuing Jesus with an eye toward developing concrete strategies for practicing social justice and radical inclusion. Deborah used to think that being of Chinese descent made her less worthy. She would assimilate to the culture around her which was predominantly Caucasian. Prachi Saini started Je T’aime Perfumery with the vision of bringing the mysterious art of perfume design to a wider audience. Prior to following her passion in designing signature scents, she worked for nearly 10 years in the architecture and infrastructure construction industries in the USA and India. Now based in Singapore, she works together with her team to host fragrance workshops and parties where consumers can discover and create their own signature scents. Aside from leading these intimate workshop sessions, Prachi also works closely with consumers to design their signature fragrances, from suggesting ingredients based on their favourite perfumes to designing a formula with their ideas. Prachi used to be insecure about herself which made her miserable. When she met one of her best friends, that is when her confidence grew. Shuling was not able to express herself when she was younger. Growing in as Asian household, her family was never expressive which made Shuling not realize what she can truly achieve herself. Angie Kim is a Korean-American actress whose desire is to break barriers for Asians in the entertainment industry. Her first introduction to the spotlight was through hosting her own radio talk show. Having a greater desire to showcase not just her voice, she decided to compete in global pageants such as Miss Asia USA and Miss Korea. Even with success in these areas, she longed to express herself beyond the limits of appearance and began her pursuit as an actress. Despite not having acting experience, casting directors were quick to see her genuine and uplifting personality shine through, which ultimately landed her first role as lead female actress alongside Ken Jeong and Eric Roberts in the film K-Town Cowboys (Release Date: 2015). With recent productions, working with HBO and actors such as Ernie Hudson and Rob Schneider, she is on her way to become one of the breakout actresses in the Asian American community and be the pioneer for Asian Americans in the entertainment industry. It was difficult for Angie to accept herself since she was not confident in herself. When Angie's mother decided to enter her into a beauty pageant, that was when she learned to fully express her true self and be okay with being more of herself.
