TGS 2019 started today but we heard so many stories before the show started that I needed a podcast today! This was Final Fantasy VII Remake's event to own and they did not disappoint. I break down the new trailer and talk about the demo from the show floor. We had news from Y's IX, Persona 5 Royal, and a few release dates too. I'll wrap up TGS next week with any late breaking stuff from the press conferences. Thanks for listening! Leave us a review on Apple or your favorite listening place. With Tokyo Game Show only a week away, Nintendo beat everyone to the punch with a massive Direct last night. We got huge news of a Xenoblade Chronicles Remaster as well as Tokyo Mirage Sessions. There were other stories too including a battle update on Atelier Ryza and Persona 5 Royal. Next week is TGS so this is all just the tip of the iceberg. Don't miss this or next week's show! In the weeks between Gamescon and Tokyo Game Show, news can be light. But we soldier on and actually have some cool stories to talk about. The first is the first solid details of Atelier Ryza's battle system. While still turn based, its a departure from previous titles and looks great. We also had some Persona 5 Royal tidbits, the first screenshots for Star Ocean 1's remaster, and more baddies from Monster Hunter World Iceborne. Plus we get a solid release date for Caravan Stories and it's very soon. Thanks for listening! Leave us a review on Apple or your favorite listening place. The annual Germany based gaming festival, Gamescon, was host to a slew of JRPG stories. We got a surprise release date and price point for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Persona 5 Royal narrowed its release window to Spring of 2020 in the West. And we got a look at the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Plus tons of other trailers and announements. All these stories are covered in Episode 74 plus my initial thoughts on the Grandia HD Collection. Leave us a review on Apple or your favorite listening place. With not much to talk about, we focus on the weird times of the Grandia HD Collection's release. Good news: it will release on August 16 for $39.99. But it was as odd week before that. We have a few small stories to discuss too. I rant for a few minutes about spoiling video games with trailers. Then we hit up Facebook questions for the last half of the program. Episode 73 has a bit of everything! Leave us a review on Apple or your favorite listening place. There's no shortage of news stories this week, but no big ones. Of course most will be excited to finally fire up their Switch and play Fire Emblem. But others can fill the time with demos, live streams, and new trailers. We've got a lot to talk about. Plus my under $20 budget gamer PS4 list. In the first of our Sunday Special podcasts, I'll be reading the full interview of Tales of Arise producer Yosuke Tomizawa's interview with Dengeki Online magazine. This interview was conducted during the 2019 Tales of Festival and revealed so much about where the series is heading. These special podcasts are designed for just sitting back and enjoying. I hope you enjoy them! Look for new specials each week or so, with future episodes covering game soundtracks and more. Not a huge week of JRPG news but lots of stories to cover. We take a look at the first gameplay of Atelier Ryza and speak about Nippon Ichi and their smartphone plans. We had a technical issue with the original upload so here it is again! Working for a nice change. If you already downloading the original file, delete it as the first part has no sound. Sound apparently is important to a podcast who knew? In Episode 65 we discuss all things Tales of Arise, FFVII Remake and some Trails of Cold Steel III new changes. All that and so much more in a week I didn't think we would even have enough material for a podcast. Thanks for bearing with our problems. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jrpgreport/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jrpgreport/support
Just when you think it will be a slow week, they keep hitting us with great news. The Tales of Festival announced a ton of great features for Tales of Arise. And the trickle of FF VII Remake info keeps coming in too. Both those stories and lots more on this week JRPG Report. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jrpgreport/support
