Disney Magic Hour

Everyone loves World Showcase but if we could, what would we add. That is the question we tackle this week on the Disney Magic Hour. New pavilions? New attractions? Let's get into in because I don't want to spoil anything.

The Magic Hour crew discuss 1944's THE THREE CABALLEROS in this week's Disney Movie Hour. We once again will discuss if the film itself then question of it holds up, is it morals or emotion based and what is the iconic image.

This week the crew sits around the table to list off their Top 5 Underappreciated Animated Disney Films. These are films that, for whatever reason, never found its audience when it came to theaters. Some have since built a cult following while others continue on quite forgotten. Well, let's shine a brief light on those lost gems and give them a moment in the sun.

The Disney Magic Hour returns to the Disney Movie Hour series as we take a look back at Disney's 1942 classic, BAMBI. The coming of age story of a young deer as he learns about birth, loss and life. Audiences learned how to cry uncontrollably. It's pretty much a staple in the early Disney animated films now that I think of it. We will discuss the plot then answer our three questions. Does the film hold up? Is it a morals centered or message film? What is the iconic shot from the film?

Melyssa and Pete have returned from their latest trip to Walt Disney World to talk all about the food experienced in the seven day stay. We were joined by frequent fellow traveler Mike Bernardin and he helps us discuss all the bars and restaurants visited during our time at the resort. From Morimoto Asia, Breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine-In, Trattoria Al Forno, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar and more, welcome to the DISNEY MAGIC HOUR!

First off, I call this Episode #23 accidentally at the opening. Oops. With Melyssa out this week nursing some dental work, the guys were left to their own devices and decided to dig into what it is to be a man who loves Disney. There is always an odd assumption made if you are a "dude" and choose to visit Disney World multiple times every year. So, Pete, Bryan, and Scott sit and chat about what it is that keeps us coming back and where the interest came from.

Very excited to have the incredibly talented artist Karen Hallion on this week's show. You have probably seen Karen's art on multiple occasions across the internet, at comic conventions, and in the Disney parks. She made a big splash mashing up the Disney and Doctor Who universe that you will see on t-shirts and her range increases everyday. We were lucky enough to meet Karen at this years NY Comic Con and just knew that we had to have her on the show. Graciously, she said yes to our request and now, here it is. On this week's show Pete, Mel and Bryan sit down and look back at 1941's DUMBO. We break down the film scene by scene and then discuss what the iconic image of the film is, does it hold up, and does it focus on delivering a message or aim to elicit an emotional response.

This week we look back at and review 1941's THE RELUCTANT DRAGON which is more documentary than animated feature. It's an interesting view inside the Disney Studio's and offers up a few great animated shorts along the way.

This week's show is a mashup for both The Film Basement and the Disney Magic Hour in which we go over all of our experiences while attending the NY Comic Con. We cover everything from film to comics to video games. At the conclusion of the episode you will hear the entire recording of the press conference I attended for STAR WARS REBELS Season 2.

With all the changes coming to Hollywood Studios we take a seat in our Armchair O’ Imagineering and rebuild The Great Movie Ride. What would we keep, what would we toss out, what just needs an update. Here a few shots from the featured changes that are brought up through the episode.

This week on the Disney Magic Hour we will discuss and give our thoughts on last week's 4 hour documentary, WALT DISNEY, that was produced by PBS. From there we segway into a larger discussion about the general reaction that we witness on message boards and Facebook whenever a change is announced in the Walt Disney Resorts and Parks.

This week we take a look at all the events coming up for this year’s Food and Wine Fest at EPCOT. In addition we give some hints to help those visiting for the first time and maybe a tip or two for experienced Food and Wine patrons.

The Disney Magic Hour returns with the continuation of our Disney Movie Hour segment. This week we discuss and review 1940's FANTASIA. As we have before, three questions will be asked of the film. What is the iconic image? Is there a message/moral or does the film aim to elicit an emotion? And finally, does the film hold up?

The crew discusses whether they prefer Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We also discuss what each event entails and what changes we would like to see.
