Beyond The Badge: No Charges Against Officers In The Alton Sterling Case | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:19

Last week, the Department of Justice announced that no charges would be filed against Officers Blake Salamoni and Howie Lake who involved in the Alton Sterling case in Baton Rouge, LA. Last July, officers were killed to the store in response to a 911 call stating that one man threatened another with a gun. The officers and Sterling struggled and that led to Sterling being shot and killed. The thing that sparked the riots were videos made on mobile devices by witnesses that surfaced on social media but did not tell the whole story. The shooting death caused the “Black Lives Movement” to get involved and sparked days of riots in the Baton Rouge area. This week, Vincent digs deep into the Department of Justice’s decision not to charge Salamoni and Lake in the shooting death. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: Police Shooting Death of Terence Crutcher | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:25

This week, Vincent heads back to Harris County, OK to revisit the police shooting of Terence Crutcher. If you recall, Officer Betty Shelby was on the way to a domestic violence call when she came upon Crutcher, who had prior arrests for drugs and violence, standing in the middle of the road. After several ignored orders, Crutcher, who appeared to be under the influence of PCP, approached his vehicle and started to reach into the open window of his car, Shelby opened fire killing Crutcher because she believed he was reaching for a gun. Officer Shelby is facing first degree manslaughter charges in the shooting death of Crutcher and faces four years to a life sentence in prison. This situation has sparked investigations by both local authorities and the State Department. The issue at hand, once again, is the race card being played in this case. Officer Shelby, a white officer, shot and killed Terence Crutcher, a 40 year old black man. Why is the argument that the shooting was racial motivated absurd? Vincent explains every step of this situation as well as Officer Shelby’s mindset. Finally, as if traffic in Atlanta, GA wasn’t bad enough, enter Basil Eleby, a homeless man who singlehandedly destroyed an I-85 overpass by setting a fire causing the bridge to collapse. Eleby was seen smoking crack cocaine under the bridge when he loaded a plastic shopping cart with a sofa and place it by an area under the bridge where the DOT was storing spools of tubing for a project. He allegedly set the sofa on fire and the rest as they say is history. Luckily, no one was injured in the bridge collapse but the damage will take months, if not years, to rebuild on one of Atlanta’s busiest interstates. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: Update On Michael Brown/Ferguson Situation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:42

This week, Vincent discusses the latest video of Michael Brown seen inside the store 12 hours before he was killed. As you recall, it was the shooting death of Brown that sparked several nights of riots in Ferguson, MO in 2014. A film maker claims Brown was trading weed for the cigarillos and it wasn’t a robbery. Why does the video prove no such thing and why wouldn’t make a difference of why police responded based on the call of the robbery? Vincent shares his thoughts on that as well as an officer involved shooting in Bryan, TX which was a clear attempt of suicide by cop. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: The Latest On The Jocques Clemmons Case | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:03

This week, Vincent delves deeper into the case he discussed last week of the shooting death of Jocques Clemmons in Nashville, TN.
