Beyond The Badge: Charlottesville | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:03

Over the weekend, a white Supremacist group in Charlottesville, VA thought it would be a great idea to hold a hate filled, racist, bigoted rally in a feeble attempt to “regain the control and power” that they felt they had lost. To counter that rally, a group of protestors held a counter rally in a show of unity against such methodology. As you know, things turned deadly when someone drove a car through the counter rally , killing one person and injuring several others. This week, Vincent discusses the hypocrisy of the entire situation, including how everyone is blaming Donald Trump for his comments over the weekend and yet didn’t criticize Barack Obama when he supported the “Black Lives Matter” movement. What is going on the world???? Also, Vincent discusses the death of a South Carolina police officer shot in the line of duty that was caught on body cam. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: Indiana Police Officer Aaron Allan Shot 14 Times In Attack In Indiana | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:53

This week, Vincent discusses the horrific death of Lt. Aaron Allan of the Southport Police Dept. in Indiana. The 20 year law enforcement veteran known as “Teddy Bear” and former Officer Of The Year responded to a simple car accident call around 3pm in Marion County, IN. As Lt. Allan crawled toward a flipped car to aid the hysterical driver to calm him down, the driver fired 10-12 shots, stopped, and then shot 2-3 more times. The driver continued shooting as Lt. Allan attempted to crawl away but after being struck by 14 gunshots, Lt. Allan was pronounced dead. A second officer on the scene as well as an off duty officer from neighboring county both returned fire on the driver, who is still in the hospital. What may have been the reason behind the shooting? Worse yet, consider the sad reality that Allan had walked his son to the bus stop that morning for his first day of kindergarten. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: Shooting Death of State Trooper Joel Davis in New York | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:52

This past weekend, Trooper Joel Davis responded to a domestic violence call in Jefferson County, New York. What Davis didn’t know as he walked toward the residence, Army infantryman Justin Walters had already shot and killed a woman on the inside of the residence and shot and wounded another woman on the property. As an unsuspecting Davis approached Walters opened fire on the trooper and killed him before he could even enter the home. This week, Vincent explains the dangers of an officer responding to calls such as this and talks about instances that Vincent himself faced while he was an on duty officer that could’ve ended much the same way. This week, Vincent discusses the dash cam video of the Philando Castile shooting. What actions led to the officer feeling threatened? Why two black jurors unanimously voted not guilty? Being a former officer, Vincent has a perspective that is a bit different from the mainstream that you don’t want to miss. Also, Vincent tackles Colin Kaepernick, who compared the situation of Officer Jeronimo Yanez getting off in the Philando Castile case to police being “runaway slave patrol.” Why is this one of the most idiotic statements that anyone has ever made?  Beyond The Badge: Police Shooting On Milwaukee’s North Springs Lakefront | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:19

This week, Vincent explores a police shooting in Milwaukee from this past weekend following a chase. During the chase, 19 year old Terry Williams and his 23 year old passenger Paula McEwen swerved quickly in an attempt to run over a deputy. Officer Michael Truax shot into the car striking Williams and McEwen ending the pursuit. McEwen was shot in the shoulder and is expected to be fine. On the other hand, Williams is on life support. Here’s what the story leaves out. The day before this happened, Williams had pulled a shotgun on someone else in an unrelated incident and was named a suspect in another shooting. That said, the citizens of Milwaukee are trying to play the race card. Keep in mind, the authorities also found a loaded 9mm handgun in the vehicle. How is this case racial in any way, shape, or form? Also, Vincent looks back at the case of missing 20 year old Athena Curry in Atlanta. She’s been missing since 2011. According to Curry’s boyfriend, Yusef Mujahid, she left the home around 3:00 a.m. wearing only a t-shirt and shorts and was never seen again. He did not tell her family or police about her disappearance until four days later. At the time, the two had a 16 month old son who is now seven years old and lives with his aunt, who has full custody. Thanks for listening to this week’s show!  Beyond The Badge: Manchester, Orlando, & Kathy Griffin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:24

Between Kathy Griffin’s asinine stunt, the terrorist attacks in both Manchester and London, and the workplace shooting in Orlando, FL that killed five people, it’s been an insanely busy week in the news. By now, everyone has seen and heard about the Kathy Griffin situation. It was one of the poorest and sickest choices ever made by a celebrity (and we use that term very loosely when it comes to her). While she may not feel her actions justify the criticism she’s received, how do you think the families of those US citizens decapitated by ISIS felt waking up one morning to see that? Vincent also discusses the terrorist attacks in Manchester and London, how the situation was handled, and what he’d like to see happen in the future in an attempt thwart such attacks. Finally, what could have been done to prevent the workplace shooting in Orlando that saw five victims die and the shooter commit suicide, and Thanks for listening to this week’s show! Before we get too deep into the show summary, we’d like to thank all the law enforcement officers who put their lives in danger to protect the public during this “National Police Week.” In February, Vincent discussed the police shooting death of Jocques Clemmons in Nashville, TN.
