 PHYSICAL FRIDAY #17 - Consistency, Accuracy, Intensity…The Recipe For Fitness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 08:44

Many people have asked me how they should go about getting back in shape.  In my group, I have a standard answer.  Consistency, Accuracy, and Intensity.  The recipe is simple (I didn’t say easy).  Develop consistency in when you exercise, then work on the accuracy of the movements and only when those two are solid, ramp up the intensity.

#0076 - Blair Wiggins "The Mogan Man" - Clams For Water Quality | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:06:08

I've always been a fan of Blair, "The Mogan Man" who came out with the Addictive Fishing TV Show. He also has done a lot to incorporate the community into what he does, but now he is taking action to help the environment. Blair is using a natural filter, the clam, to help improve water quality. This was a fantastic podcast and I hope you enjoy learning more about Blair, The Mogan Man.

 HOW 2 TUESDAY #52 - How To Anchor Over A Wreck | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:35

Only the very best Captains can anchor exactly where they want to every single time. Wind, tides and current present many challenges that swing the boat off the intended spot and cause serious frustration for the recreational angler.  I answer a question from a listener on how they might improve their anchoring skills and hit the right spot more often.

PHYSICAL FRIDAY #16 - Recovery…Acupuncture, Massage, Chiro, Ice…When You Need A Professional And When Can You Do It On Your Own | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 09:32

The physical culture of working out, getting stronger and more fit often results in sore muscles, tweaked body parts, aches, pains and sometimes overuse injuries.  Acupuncture, Massage, Chiropractic, Dry Needling and more have been very helpful to me but learning how to maintain my body, recover from the pain and get back out there is also extremely important.  We go over resources that you can use to do basic maintenance on yourself and keep you in the game.

 #0075 - Josh Carney - Positivity Through Hardship | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:08

Josh Carney loved to hunt from a very young age.  He went on his first turkey hunt with his father and was shot accidentally which left him a paraplegic and in a wheelchair.  While in the hospital, Josh had a feeding tube in his throat which he pulled out when told he wasn’t going to be able to speak again.  Little did he know at the time that the tube had altered his vocal cords and that he would now be able to make animal sounds better than with any type of call.

HOW 2 TUESDAY #51 - Preventing Rust And Corrosion On Tarpon Flies - How I Keep My Flies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 25:01

Just as there is an art to tying perfect tarpon flies, there is also an art to storing them to prevent rust and to keep them performing as intended and to prevent the possibility of fouling (a Tarpon fisherman’s nightmare). There are lots of ways to do it, but today I am going to go over the methods taught to me by Fitz Coker. With new technology like the Plano Edge box, this method has become even better.

 PHYSICAL FRIDAY #15 - Do You Need A Trainer, A Coach Or A Group? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 06:22

There are a select few individuals who can set a physical goal and accomplish it completely by themselves.  However, in my experience, those people are few and far between.  Coaches, Trainers, and Groups can hold you accountable, teach you the proper technique and also ramp up the intensity more than you may have done on your own.

#0074 - Hayden Rowland - A Month In The Alaskan Wilderness With NOLs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:09:36

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” - Neale Donald Walsch.  This quote is significant to today’s podcast because my son, Hayden, just spent a month Sea Kayaking and backpacking through the Alaskan Wilderness on a NOLS Program. He chose this program knowing that it was outside of his comfort zone. This is one of my favorite podcasts ever with an exceptional young man that I am lucky enough to have as a son.

 HOW 2 TUESDAY #50 - How To Choose A Fishing Camp | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 08:44

Parker Rabow of Florida Fantasy Fishing Camp discusses how a parent might ask the right questions to make sure that the camp in consideration is legitimate and safe. Check references, do your research and listen to this to make sure that your child not only has a great experience but is also safe and sound while in their care.

PHYSICAL FRIDAY #14 - Get In Shape For Flats Fishing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 06:27

I answer a question from a listener about how someone might get in better shape to prepare for their Tarpon trip.  This could easily be used for any flats fishing trip.  It might seem silly to some to think that fishing requires fitness, but most people don’t stand up all day in the hot sun.  Leg strength, lower back strength, and proper nutrition and hydration can go a long way to helping you to enjoy your trip much more. Read more HERE.

#0073 - Drew Chicone - Passion And Thinking Outside The Flybox | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:05:04

World Class Fly Tyer and author of 11 books, Drew Chicone found himself in a Cardiologists office at the age of 25.  Drew created success for himself and was killing it at 25 years old with an office full of employees and making big sales.  However, he was also killing himself with his stress level, extreme caffeine intake at 25 cups per day and simply neglecting his body.  He gave it all up one day and pursued his passion for tying flies.

 HOW 2 TUESDAY #49 - How To Make The Sand-ball Chum | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 07:21

I got an email from someone talking about different types of chumming. He said he understood the concept of sand-ball chumming but wanted to ensure that he was making it correctly. So I cover the ways to correctly make sand-ball chum and what it is used for if you haven't used it before.

 PHYSICAL FRIDAY #13 - Is Exercise Selfish? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:06

If there is a problem on an airplane, the instructions say that you should put on your own mask and then help others.  As Fathers, Husbands, Leaders, taking care of yourself is similar.  Create the best you possibly can so that you can then give to others even more!  Is exercise selfish?  Not in my opinion.  In fact, I think it is selfish to neglect your body and mind.  The key is how you fit in the time it takes to exercise and take care of yourself.

 #0072 - Parker Rabow - Florida Fantasy Fishing Camp | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:22

Parker Rabow started the Florida Fantasy Fishing Camp as a project for his Entrepreneurship Major.  The numbers worked and he knew of no other fishing camps for kids so he decided to go for it.  The first year he had 2 sessions of 14 kids.  This summer, 450 kids will go through his program with another 250 on a waiting list.

HOW 2 TUESDAY #48 - How To Put Pressure On Tarpon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 13:52

I got a message where the person said they thought they were putting a lot of pressure on tarpon and the guide said: "you have to start putting pressure on the tarpon, you are putting no pressure on it." So I think I'll quickly go over this, it could for sure be a full-length episode but here are some quick points on how to put pressure on tarpon.
