We were thinking about naming this, “No rose, no problem,” but decided to stay away from discussion of the guys. Instead, after five episodes of favorable reviews of Hannah, we now, unfortunately, start to turn on her. Particularly, we make one of our deeper dives ever on her statements around religion and sexuality such as her “believe … created … but” line. You’ll get a lot out of it, but then again, we seem to have been wrong about Hannah so we can be wrong here, too. Take the risk that you will by clicking play and joining us!
An exceptionally sleep-deprived Co-host Craig coupled with a perfectly caffeinated and well-articulating Co-host Iciar makes for deep dives into critical subjects that would decompress Jules Verne. It’s good late-night listening. Err… if you only listen during the day then it’s great for that, too. Hit play and join us for this sleepy and excited wild ride!
This episodes tasks us with a trip to the right coast. After gushing about his love for New England, Co-host Craig turns his attention to Jed who makes all of his basketball shots. Like, all of them. Even the one facing backwards while kissing Hannah. It seems that all of this is pointing toward Hannah and Jed becoming good friends some day in Nashville, where all Bachelorette friendships flourish. And, hey, sorry for posting this episode so late in the week… Please hit play and listen anyways, because despite the lateness there is still lots of cool Bachelor Masters content!
We weren’t in a tangenting mood this time around, a result of this messy episode we are charged with critiquing. Our conclusions are varied and we ultimately blame editors, producers, contestants, us viewers…. but not Hannah. She rocks. A shorter podcast episode begets a shorter podcast description! Hit play and join us!
In this episode we try to talk sensitively about Alabama’s new legislation, drag queen culture, white people spectatorship, Luke P’s genuineness, Cam’s genuineness, weddings, Luke P again, massage rooms, shirts off, walls down, and, because he forces our hand after the rose ceremony, Luke P again. To keep us on track, Recorded Chris makes an appearance! If that in itself isn’t reason to hit the play button, then all of our sensitively must be!
For what is probably the first time in Bachelor Masters history, Co-host Craig actually likes the episode. And this is wild too: Co-host Iciar doesn’t like the episode. At least that’s what both of them say before going on about Hannah, that Scott guy, that Luke guy, why she even gives roses to any of the guys, jackets, morality, quitting jobs, and, well, that Luke guy again. It’s all here in our third podcast episode of the season! We’re still sans Chris, but please listen anyway!
How are you gonna move up in the world? Go on the Bachelorette! If that’s true, then do all of the people that send in applications to be contestants want out of their present life…? This is just the kind of Existential Dread we love to talk about here on the Bachelor Masters! So, we talk about that, but, ya know, in a positive way, along with Hannah, Alabama, the reunion mixer, the new contestants, race and class, and sort of meeting Colton at an Amazon puppy event. Join in and let us know that you Exist!
We start our third year of the podcast in style, by which we mean the Neo-Socratic style. Eventually our attention turns to the contestants by way of introducing Mark (The Fourth Bachelor Master) on-air, chatting about Alabama (Roll Tide) and USC (Fight On), talking about Cassie and Colton’s new digs down the hall from each other, and, most importantly, Co-host Iciar and Mark’s hang-out sesh with Leo (!!!) at a comedy club. Hit play and join us! No Endgame or Game of Thrones spoilers!
We messed up and forgot to talk about Air Supply! But, we did talk about everything else to the best of our ability up to and including Hannah B.’s red dress with the arm that goes down to the floor. We also try to come to some conclusions on what the Bachelor Franchise really means to us humans born into a large, undetermined Universe. It’s riveting podcasting, for sure, so please join us by hitting the play button!
We take the gloves off and dive deep into the Fantasy Suites. Which is funny because Colton himself didn’t “deep dive” in the Fantasy Suites. But enough innuendo! We debate the particulars of love, casual sex, heartbreak, feelings, and Cassie’s dad for a whole hour. After that we get around to tangenting and talk about Craig meeting the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Gaming Historian (even though Craig isn’t a gamer). Hit play and join us for what could be our penultimate podcast episode!
Surprise! We recorded live from an East Hollywood Bachelor Watch Party last night hosted by awesome Bachelor Masters fans Miriam and Leah! Note that we cut out various pauses, breaks, and times when we weren’t talking because we were watching the episode (more like cringing at the episode) which takes it down to about an hour. Come along for the ride in what is our first live remote!
It seems that our last podcast episode was too nice on the Bachelor franchise so we overcompensate by being pretty mean and upset on this one. Particularly, what’s up with the fence not being jumped? This may seem like a small thing but Co-host Craig makes it into a big deal. And, kidding aside, we feel that the Women of Color on the show are being unfairly treated by the other contestants and the producers. If you like tangents, you’ll like this episode. Press play and join us!
Co-host Chris is, unfortunately, not with us again this week, but, interestingly, Craig and Iciar still arrive at Chris conclusions… he has that influence! This is also a shorter Bachelor Masters episode because life is… like that. Short episode, short description! We hope you’ll listen in!
In this episode we take on the various interpersonal dramas between woman and man and woman and woman and rain and humidity. The latter leads to gross perspiration which has us pondering if attraction is based on sweat. Also gross is the staging of the three-way fight at the end, that Colton joins… err, runs away from. Is this when he jumps the fence? Will he jump anything?
Co-host Craig is a little distracted today. So while in this podcast episode we don’t talk about “fear” or “Fear Factor,” he phoned in the title, “Fear factor,” based on an off-hand remark by Iciar. Fear factor! It sounds cool. Like bungee jumping: it sounds cool but probably really isn’t. None of us will ever know. But Colton now knows! We cover that and a bunch of other things, including how Bachelor contestants might consider unionizing, in this low-energy yet action packed hour.
