On the heels of the election, Pastor Rob detours from our Wisdom series for a one-off message on The City of God. It is always good to be reminded in the midst of difficulty and turmoil that this Earth is not our eternal home. There is no space or time in human history where Christians have been truly at home. Regardless of who ends up in the White House, Jesus is still on the throne and we need to constantly shift our gaze higher and toward Heaven!

From Above // The Guardrail of Wisdom

Pastor Steve returns to the pulpit for Part 3 of From Above, and he tackles the topic of growing in wisdom. Just like Jesus, you can increase in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. There is wisdom available from God for every age and stage of life! Wherever we find ourselves today, we cannot content ourselves with yesterday’s wisdom but need to acquire the necessary wisdom for the age and stage you are in right now.

In Part 2, Pastor Rob speaks on the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). The message is divided into three parts: The Paradox, The Problem, and The Power. God is inviting you today to orient your whole life around Him, to fear Him, to revere Him above all else, and obey His commands...this is the beginning of wisdom.

In Part 1, Pastor Rob introduces us to the topic of wisdom and dives into the invitation of wisdom from the scriptures. He covers a number of different areas: Why we need wisdom, what wisdom is, and how to get wisdom. Wisdom is extending an invitation to all who will listen and calling out to those who would receive her. Let’s persistently request and expectantly receive God’s abundant wisdom for us. Because if there is ever a time where we need the wisdom of God, that time is now.

Repentance // Our Only Hope (Part 4)

In Part 3, Pastor Steve deals with the dangers of delaying repentance. The first danger is the hardening of your heart, the second is missing your timeframe to repent, and the third danger is that tomorrow isn't promised. When the Holy Spirit prompts you to repent, do not harden your heart – do it right now!

In Part 2, Pastor Steve focuses on the concentrated list of sins Jesus tells the Church to repent of in Revelation 2 and 3. Of the seven churches in this letter, five of them are instructed to repent from very specific things – things which are very applicable to each one of us, and the global Church, today. If we want to see change, repentance is our only hope...luckily it's God's best news!

In Part 1 of Repentance // Our Only Hope, Pastor Steve lays a foundation for the doctrine of repentance so we can begin to see repentance as a priority and a necessity. It is our only hope, the Church's only hope, and our nation's only hope! Repentance is complete when the conviction of sin, the turning from sin, and the confession of sin, collides with the kindness of God in a redemptive embrace!

In Part 2 of "In Between," Pastor Rob continues to look at the Israelites' wilderness wanderings and draw parallels to the times when we find ourselves walking through barren deserts. He talks about the punishment of sin, the purpose of the wilderness, and the place of promise. Our eternal dwelling place with God is in the land of abundance...that’s our joy. That’s our place of promise. Keep your eyes on that. Face the storm. And hold on tight.

The times that we desperately want to avoid are often the times that God does what we most desperately need. It’s often in the whirlwind of crisis and uncertainty that God brings our greatest opportunity for spiritual growth. In Part 1 of In Between, Pastor Rob talks about the craving of comfort, the crisis of leadership, and the community we need. We need to remember that no matter what uncertainty, instability, suffering, or hardship we're facing, we’re never alone. He knows. And He’s right here with us in the middle of our ‘wilderness wandering.'

In part 2 of our mini-series on Heaven, Pastor Steve answers the often asked question about Heaven: will we sin there? He also unpacks seven things the Bible says are going on in Heaven: creativity, music, worship, laughing, enjoying God's animal Kingdom, serving, and reigning with Christ.

In Part 1 of Heaven: What's going on up there?, Pastor Steve lays a foundation for three Biblical aspects of Heaven – those in Heaven are alive, the composition, appearance, and ability of their Heavenly body, and how they are surrounding us and encouraging us to continue the race set before us down here.

Pastor Rob returns to the pulpit to wrap up our series, Taking New Territory in Troubling Times. In the ending passage of 1 Thessalonians, Paul speaks about the huge theological concept of sanctification. Pastor Rob breaks that down into three parts: the sanctification of the saints, the sickness of the soul, and the security of the Gospel. If you’re discouraged because you’re not as far along as you feel like you should be and you're still wrestling and struggling to overcome some sin you thought was gone long ago, remember that He’s not finished with you yet!

Our friend, Dr. Mark Rutland, joins us today with a message on how God uses unlikely people to produce unlikely results. Looking at various historic events, Dr. Rutland shows how God used seemingly insignificant and unlikely people to achieve His greater good.
