According to Barna research, the single most often asked question about God is, "Why does God allow tragedy and suffering?". Due to recent, tragic events in our community that closely touch our church family, Pastor Steve Biblically, philosophically, and personally unpacks tragedy and suffering. If you are going through unspeakable hurt and pain, know that Jesus feels your pain and sympathizes with your weaknesses. Tragedy does not have to have the final word over those who are suffering – God has the final word, and that Word is Jesus.

In Part 2, Dr. Rutland dissects the reality of life and the will of God. When you are facing difficulties, seek God’s heart before you seek the answers. God cannot will in your life what is contrary to his character; His grace is sufficient.

Dr. Rutland joins us this month for a series on the Holiness of God. We can't make holiness happen ourselves, it's an extension of who God is working in our lives. Because God is holy, He will make us holy.

Pastor Steve addresses the Judge Kavanaugh hearings through the lens of the Biblical qualifications for bringing an accusation against someone. During the heated rhetoric, party politics, and cultural dangers that surround this hearing, we, as Followers of Jesus, must ask ourselves – does the current accusation (with its to-date lack of corroborating testimony and evidence) meet the biblical requirements to justify the vile treatment of Judge Kavanaugh?

In Part 6, Pastor Steve dives into what it looks like to follow Jesus into the place of compassion. Biblical compassion sees past people’s immediate misery, to their future blessing, and then helps to see the blessing accomplished. Supernatural power and compassion go hand in hand!

It is our honor and pleasure to have our dear friend, Pastor Steven Khoury (from Holy Land Missions – holylandmissions.org), speak to us on following Jesus and the Holy Spirit through fiery trials and tribulations.

Continuing on through the spiritual disciplines of Jesus, Pastor Jimmy speaks on a topic that all of us in modern society can relate to, which is the need for rest. If you want to be a disciple of Jesus, you have to learn to enter into rest. Throughout the scriptures, we see that Jesus didn’t rest from His work, He worked from His rest. Jimmy discusses three practical ways to enter into His rest: 1) Trust God, 2) Listen to God's Voice, 3) Be diligent to enter His rest.

In Part 4, Pastor Steve speaks on following Jesus into the Life of the Supernatural. Everything Jesus did was in relationship to the Holy Spirit's power that was on His life — we need to learn, imitate, and duplicate that as we follow Him. Holiness is the life-long transformation of the heart into the likeness of Jesus. When you know who you are, and Whose you are, and what’s already yours — temptation will be defeated and holiness will prevail in your life! Let's be people who follow Jesus into the place of Holiness! 

In part 2 of “Follow Me”, Pastor Steve unpacks what it looks like to follow Jesus into the place of prayer. Prayer is the most important spiritual discipline in Jesus' life and it is the life-giving root of all spiritual life!

There is a lot of confusion in the world today over what a Christ-follower is and how one lives. So in our new series, Follow Me, we are going to explore the lifestyle and spiritual disciplines of Jesus to hopefully help us see ways we need to adjust our life in how we follow Him. It is time to shed dead, cultural Christianity and step into life-giving relationship with Jesus.

As a continuation of the last series and in anticipation for the event, SURROUNDED (gracechapel.net/event/surrounded-worship-pray-awaken), Pastor Steve shares with us God's prescription for National forgiveness and healing. The bottom line is that if we want God to hear, forgive, and heal, we must humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways.

In the final part of our "Hope" series, Pastor Jimmy speaks on hope for the weary and heavy-hearted. Pastor Jimmy encourages us to find rest for our souls in the person of Jesus, taking up His yoke which is light and His burden which is easy (Matthew 11:28-30).

In Part 4, Pastor Jonathan speaks on abounding Hope, which is an overflowing, contagious Hope that we can give away to others. Using examples from his own life and the anchor verse of Romans 15:13, Pastor Jonathan challenges us to simply believe that the God of Hope will fill us with all joy and peace, and that we will abound with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
