Their stories help define who we are as individuals/daughters/sons and provide the context of how we were raised, our values/morals, and the lessons we were taught. In this episode, we share OUR mothers’ personal immigration stories, and we know these do not represent every immigrants’ journey. There are so many varied experiences we need to capture and share. The three of us have had quite an eventful summer, from promotions, to travel, to welp -- aging. From elation to frustration to a love/hate relationship. “Home” genuinely becomes the most loaded, beautiful, and yet pull-at-the-heartstrings word you could ever imagine. The expat experience sounds like a dream, but there’s so much to it that makes it not so much of a fantasy. As a podcast focused on the perspective of modern day Asian American women, we thought it would be fitting to dedicate an episode to highlighting the Asian women who have influenced us. We talk about Asian American women of today and also reminisce about those who shaped us growing up - noting that we were drawn to unconventional sources because of the lack of AA representation (Sailor Moon anyone?). We discuss the importance of relatability versus influence, and how the changing media landscape has affected the amount and types of role models available to Asian American women today. We’re back with another Q&A episode! We've been getting an overwhelming amount of messages, emails, and DMs from you all, and it's been super encouraging for our team to read every morning (thank you!) As much as all the messages reassures us this podcast was the right thing to do, we’re not always able to respond to every one... but we see and read all of them! Welcome fellow AsianBossGirl - Krista Suh, a feminist, an artist, a Hollywood screenwriter, the creator of The Pussyhat Project and author of "DIY Rules for a WTF World". For those in our audience who were following The Women’s March movement, you may have noticed the bright pink hats that many people were wearing at the 600+ rallies around the world. Well, Krista is the individual responsible for creating and distributing the design, and essentially empowering millions of people around the world to make and wear this symbol of solidarity in support of women’s and human rights. Join us for a personal conversation with Krista, as we cover everything from her Asian American upbringing, to her thoughts on feminism and how she got into politics, to dating ;)

Have you ever taken the time to really think about who you are and how you operate? What are your strengths? Your weaknesses? Choosing a career that is not a fit for your personality is likely to leave you feeling unhappy and apathetic. If you don't know yourself as well as you'd like to, there are a variety of personality assessment tests such as "Myers-Briggs" or "What Color Is Your Parachute?" available to help you identify your personality type. Of course, we wouldn't suggest basing your decision solely on the results of an internet career test. But they can offer useful suggestions you may not have thought of, or confirm the suitability of the job you currently have, or anticipate having. Join us, as we evaluate our personalities with the help of Meyers Briggs and the 16 personalities tests and talk through our careers in finance, tech, and fashion. Every relationship, whether we like to admit it or not, has its problems. How can we work through issues with our significant other in a way that helps versus hurts the relationship? Is problem solving language a thing? Is it ok to vent to friends about problems between you and your boo? From the couple that has been together for years, to the relationship that just started, and the partnerships we explore while dating...every stage comes with its own challenges. Listen in as we explore the different facets of problem solving in romantic relationships.

For us three ladies, the strongest transition for self-care, particularly related to hair and skincare, happened between our 20s and 30s. From a bar of soap, to drug store products, to multiple steps in our nightly skin care regimen, we've become less reactive (ah, acne!) and more preventive (stay away, ac-NAY!) But apparently, we're still not doing enough!! One of our most popular topics from Season 1 is back for another round of discussion. In Episode 2: Fuckboi - The Modern Day Player, we offered a female perspective on this topic. This time, we have some special guests to rep the 20s and 30s male perspective. Listen in as we discuss what makes a fuckboi and why they exist; the line between friendship, friends with benefits, and romantic interest; how men and women interpret physical interactions differently; and if our guests consider themselves fuckbois.

As a natural progression from our last episode, we think it is fitting to talk about…BABIES! Like weddings, there are a handful of women (&men) who envision what it’s like to have children- from being pregnant, the process of naming them to the hardest job ever - raising them. Listen in as we share our fantasies about having babies and the harsh, painful reality of going into labor! OW!   We also share thoughts on our personal baby, this podcast, with you! From our initial hesitations, our goals, and overall how this podcast making journey has been for us. This episode marks the end of our first season, but don't worry. We got a bun in the oven and we're planning to release our next baby in January 2018!
