 Vegan 101 w/ Live Planted! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:22:01

This whole "vegan" thing can be super daunting to people. Restrictive, difficult, radical, etc. are some of the common words associated with removing animals from your diet. But it doesn't have to be this way. With a bit of planning, preparation, and practical focus, shifting to a plant-based diet is actually pretty doable. We decided to go back to basics and team up with Alyssa from the Live Planted Podcast, which is focused on practical vegan living. We went through our favorite pieces of advice for the person brand new to this lifestyle, such as cookbooks, staple meals, and a bit of the basic science and reasoning behind going vegan. We also answered some listener questions from social media! Hope it's helpful, and if you're a seasoned plant-eater, be sure to share this episode with someone who is curious or just starting their vegan shift. And if you have any of your own tips or advice that we may have missed, drop us an email to tfflifestyle@gmail.com. Now go eat some plants already! -Jackson and Aaron Want to support the show and what TFF is doing?  How To Travel on a Plant-Based Diet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:15

Traveling is one of the greatest gifts of life. Exploring different places, cultures, and foods is something both of us are extremely passionate about. But how do you do it if you're plant-based? Many people don't believe it's possible to both eat a vegan diet and travel around the world. Well, folks, in 2017, the times they are a changin'. With so many plant-based options from grocery stores to restaurants around the globe, it's now easier than ever. Jackson recently returned from a 6 week long trip in Europe, which included an epic cycling portion that tested his plant-based requirements, and has been to Thailand as a vegan. Aaron has traveled all over the world, including Turkey and South America. In this episode, we give our best tips and advice for eating plant-based abroad. We cover topics like the best technology applications to use, how to book accommodations, and what foods to look for as staples. We also zoom out and talk philosophically for a bit, discussing how we believe you shouldn't limit the experience of traveling because of fear of losing control of your diet. The focus should be doing the absolute best you can when it comes to remaining plant-based, but that nobody is perfect. Let us know - what are your best tips for surviving as a plant eater while traveling the world? What advice would you give? Send us an email at tfflifestyle@gmail.com. Survey time! Please consider leaving your thoughts and constructive criticisms on our podcast survey by clicking http://bit.ly/tffsurvey so that we can improve and refine TFF. We are leaving it open for another week, so get in your response! You'll also be entered to win a special care package from us! We were also recently guests on two podcasts: How To Health and Plant Yourself. We definitely recommend going and listening to those interviews for a different taste of TFF on the other side of the microphone! That's it from us. Enjoy the show! -Jackson and Aaron Want to support the show and what TFF is doing? You can share our content with friends and family if you feel like they could get something out of our message.  Do We Need Carnitine? Preachy Vegan Advice, Enemas, and Gary Taubes | Q&A 009 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:27

We're back with another Q&A! We've had a lot of questions lately, so decided to put out another Q&A show a bit sooner than normal. I'm writing this post and putting up the show as I sit in the London-Heathrow Airport on my way back to the USA after such an incredible trip abroad. Feeling the love and gratitude for the experiences I had and can't wait to do it again someday. If you haven't already, be sure to check out my short recap video of the trip and help support our Mercy For Animals campaign: For everyone asking about the Plant-Based Parenting Series - stay tuned. Aaron is hard at work on the second part of that series and should be out in the next few weeks. Sorry for the delay, life has been hectic for TFF! We hope you enjoy this Q&A, and thank you to everyone that submitted questions. Questions answered: Do we need to supplement with Carnitine? (6:00) Our take on Sam Harris’ interview with Gary Taubes (11:00) Advice on explaining the role genetics versus lifestyle in terms of nutrition without being preachy (23:44) Is Aaron’s dog plant-based? (32:37) How are you going to make TFF more diverse and applicable to a wider audience? (33:51) What are your opinions on colonics/enemas? (39:17) Are you enjoying the podcast?  Sonya Looney on Ultra Mountain Bike Racing, Being Brave, and Plant-Powered Adventure | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:17:18

Be brave. Do epic shit. This is the mantra, the motto, the ethos of professional mountain bike racer, Sonya Looney. This week's guest embodies the Thought For Food Lifestyle almost perfectly. Sonya not only rides bikes faster than most, she's also a public speaker, podcaster, and plant-powered athlete. She's a champion of overcoming fear, empowering others, and living a life of adventure. She's raced all over the world, she's won the 24 hour world championships, and given a TED talk. I have been inspired by Sonya for quite some time, so I was extremely grateful to get her on the show and sit down for an epic conversation! We cover so much ground, including her background with mountain bike racing, getting comfortable with discomfort, her craziest experiences, plant-based nutrition while adventuring around the world, and more. Really psyched about this episode, so I hope you enjoy it. Definitely be sure to follow Sonya and subscribe to her new podcast! -Jackson Are you enjoying the podcast?
