The Art of Manliness: #319: Making Exercise a Habit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 06 Jul 2017. Are you tired of starting fitness programs with the best of intentions only to find yourself falling off the workout wagon two weeks later? If so, today’s episode is for you. I’ve brought back bodyweight strength training coach Anthony Arvanitakis to talk about his new book, How to Never Skip Your Workout Again. Anthony and I begin our conversation discussing what causes people to stop working out and how making exercise a ritual is the cure to this problem. Anthony then digs into specifics on how exactly to make exercise a ritual, including creating a pre-workout checklist (that you actually write out on an index card), wearing a workout "uniform," and picking the best time to set your ritual in motion. We then discuss why rituals are much more powerful than motivation in helping you stick with a fitness program, and how to keep with it even when your life gets really busy. We end our conversation discussing how to make your diet a ritual as well, so you can lose weight or pack on muscle.

Inspirational Living: Motivation, Self-Help, Spirituality & Positive Thinking: The Positive Psychology of Success (Being Successful) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 02 May 2017. Listen to episode 157 of the Inspirational Living podcast: The Positive Psychology of Success (Being Successful). Edited & adapted from The Psychology of Success by Newton N. Riddle. Self-Help Podcast Excerpt: There are elements of genius in every man and woman that if awakened and trained will enable them to do something worthwhile. There are stores of energy and ambition in every brain that if unlocked and given expression in action will supply the force necessary to bring things to pass. There are germs of goodness and divinity in every soul that if quickened by love and wrought into character will enable them to live a clean, self-respecting, moral life. Awaken the genius, unlock the energies, quicken the divinity in a person, change them from negative to positive, combine their intellect, energy, and conscience in harmonious expression, and you have given to that person the positive psychology of success. What is Success? What constitutes success? If we are to see things alike, we must have the same viewpoint. Briefly, success is the accomplishment of anything attempted. But we must get a larger view of the subject. We must measure success first from the viewpoint of the individual, and second from their relation to society. We must measure success in the individual not wholly by their objective achievements in the few years that belong to the earth life, but in the light of the fact that the influence of their life extends far into the future.....  Operation Self Reset | Self Help 101 | Confidence | Self Esteem | Motivation | Inspiration | Goal Setting| Success Factors: Crush Limiting Beliefs With These 4 Cs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 07 Dec 2016.   Limiting beliefs tell us the story before it even happens. “There is no way I can grow a business because I am not organized enough”, “I won’t ever be able to lose weight: obesity runs in my family”. We all tell ourselves something along those lines. This episode will show you what to do to crush your limiting beliefs. Here’s what’s been covered in a nutshell: * Personal development makes you humble. * Leadership starts with yourself. In order to be a great leader for others, you need to be a great leader for yourself. * Personal development is all about challenging yourself to conquer the stuff you suck at. * Limiting beliefs affect all of us, even if you don’t think they do.  The four Cs for crushing limiting beliefs 1. Catch it Your limiting beliefs will manifest themselves differently in different scenarios. You need to identify what the limiting belief is for that particular situation and really verbalize it for yourself. In order to catch the limiting belief, all you need to do is to be self aware. Self-awareness is the number one principle of personal development.  Whenever your mind switches from the positive to the negative, you need to be present and catch that moment. 2. Cover it When your mind switches from the positive to the negative, you need to force yourself to replace the negative mindset with a positive one. It is very unusual for someone to feel like doing that. Nobody wants to wake up in the morning at 4 AM to read a personal development book, that why people force themselves to do it when they do not feel like doing it. 3. Challenge it You and I are competitive individuals. We all love to win and want to win at life. you have a job because you want something, you set goals because you want to achieve them. When we challenge the limiting belief, we are forcing ourselves into thinking beyond that limiting belief. As a result, we can create a game out of that challenge, a game that we can win. 4. Conquer it Through the process of challenging ourselves to do what we initially thought we could’t do, we will conquer the limiting belief. You need time and availability to conquer, to bash those limiting beliefs. If you decide to let Jake help you allocate time and availability to crush your limiting beliefs, join his www.selfresetmastery.com program.
