E30 | Charge What You Are Worth | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

If you get a DUI do you know what an attorney charges per hour? $400 is the answer. Seems steep right? I'll bet if you get a DUI and need to get it reduced to a lesser violation to keep your license you'll have no problem paying that 400 bucks. Lawyers charge what they are worth. Unfortunately when it comes to getting treatment from a cash based P.T. people don't have the same perception. When you mention your services run $150 people generally turn their nose up. So on Episode 30 of the P.T. Entrepreneur Podcast I tell you why it's important to charge what you are worth.

On Episode 27 of the P.T. Entrepreneur Podcast we talk about overcoming fear in business. Often times one of the biggest fear P.T.'s have is putting themselves out there on the internet, radio waves..etc as an authority on matters of the body. Lots ot P.T.'s are afraid of how their peers will judge them if they do something as simple as blogging. Unfortunately for the fearful P.T. content producing & getting out there is one of the most important keys to growing your business. On this episode I will use a story to illustrate the potential power of overcoming your fears.

 E26 | Carlos Berio | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:51:55

E24 | Gene Shirokobrod Talks Entrepreneurship By Doing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:47:08

The truth of the matter is that the feeling of independence entrepreneurship brings isn't a static thing. The books and the podcasts don't tell you about bringing your family to the brink of financial ruin in order to open your podcast, they don't tell you about the 24/7 grind to keep your endeavor alive. However it's these moments that define and shape your life and future. On Episode 24 of the P.T. Entrepreneur Podcast I catch up with P.T. & Podcaster Gene Shirokobrodabout entrepreneurship by doing.   Gene is proof doing will lead to success as a entrepreneur. He's a OG podcaster, published author, founder of UpDoc, a digital marketing agency for P.T.'s & Recharge and P.T. clinic for CrossFitters.  E23 | Practice What You Preach | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:07:45

You know what is lame. Hiring a fat personal trainer. Let's be honest if you walked into a gym to hire a new trainer and he looked like Michael Moore you'd leave. The same concept can be applied to our profession. We spend lots of our time advising patients to move better, sleep better, reduce stress and eat better..etc and too often many of you (and sometimes me) don't practice what you preach. If you're a P.T. and your fat, tired, over stressed and eating like crap you're a hypocrite and you need to fix it because you're a liability to our profession!

 E22 | Leon Knight | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:48:04

E21 | Give Time On The Front End | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:11:21

If you have ever had to hire a lawyer for anything than you know how annoying it can be when you get a bill and you have been charged down to the microsecond, including that "free consultation" you had. In the physical therapy career field people tend to handle things the same way, if someone sends an email asking a question about a sprained ankle too often the response is "let's book you an appointment," when it should be: take 20 minutes give time to on the front end to the patient and it will come back. Much like the law of reciprocity in business the P.T. career field it's of the highest importance that you take time to listen and talk to patients regardless of if your billing them. It builds trust with potential patients and raises the likelihood that someone will come back and spend some money at your practice.
