The Stew

This week the boys have our friend and original Stew co-host Chris Chang on as a guest, we start the show off by convincing him to eat peanut butter from a can meant for dogs and it goes uphill from there, we talk about burgers, coffee, having a second fridge, fried chicken, the ideals of hunting for food, canned tuna, and we answer listener questions + the best thing we ate all week!

Adam Roberts is one of the first food bloggers ever, he started amateur gourmet over 10 years ago, has written cookbooks, hosted shows, traveled the world and cooked with many a chef, and now has transitioned to TV writing, currently working on the very funny “The Real O’Neals” on ABC.  We chat with him about postmates, gay weddings, dunkin donuts, bagels, booths, cooking with a zillion chefs, and also he’s literally my neighbor. 

This week the boys chat about my dog, breakfast burritos, suadero, pastrami burritos, free champagne, selling food at coachella, Amboy restaurant, all you can eat restaurants, king crabs, shaved catfish, eating on a fishing boat, the city of Irvine, Indian food dinner party suggestions, Ina Garten, and so much more!

This week our friend and reoccurring guest Adrianna Adarme aka A Cozy Kitchen joins the boys for a chat about waffle irons, fascination with american cheese, a lot of car talk for some reason, vitamix blenders, Adrianna’s favorite instagram to follow, cookbooks that are hard to follow, rare ovens, smoking vegetables, making boba at home, couple local restaurant reviews and the best thing we ate all week!

Andre and Chris are both VERY sick but Jason feels pretty great, we talk about some San Francisco food stories, chowder, making a jail salad, too thick pizzas, timing, listener questions, pop ups and the best thing we ate all week!

This week Jason and Andre have a big announcement!  We’re doing a pop-up restaurant at the end of this month, so we go over what we’re doing there, take some listener questions, and talk about the best thing we ate all week!

Zack Pollack is the chef owner of the acclaimed Italian Restaurant "Alimento" here is Los Angeles. The boys have him over to chat about my dog, cuisine plateauing, Architecture, Italian foods, I try to get his chicken liver pate recipe but he won't give it to me at all, and so much more!

Jason and Andre chat with their pal Dan Oh in the absence of Chris about what to do with a lot of cheese, Superbowl Foods, nacho methods, ordering sushi on postmates, how to make Korean Soon Tofu Soup, BS Taqueria review, and the best thing we ate all week!

Jason went to Tulum, Mexico last week so the boys recap all the meals, plus we open with a good 20 minutes on how to whole foods properly.

This week Jason, Andre, and Chris welcome our pal Zach Brooks back on the show.  Zach runs the very popular podcast food is the new rock, and we ask him about some previous big guests he’s had over the years, we talk even more about the LA food world, tipping, benihana, crostini bars, xmas tamale making parties, our taco crawl, and organic produce delivery.

Doug Rankin is a chef here in Los Angeles, worked in many restaurants, most notably and recently running the kitchen at Trois Mec and then Petite Tois.  Doug recently left to pursue his own dreams and stuff like that, basically he has gone rogue.  The boys chat with him about all of that, plus some crazy stories, and some dishes he developed over the years at trois mec.  Also we drank scotch, so keep that in mind!

Peter Lemos is a chef from Los Angeles who’s worked at great spots all over town, but recently went in on his own venture, a small sandwich shop in LA’s Frogtown neighborhood.  It’s called Wax Paper, and features specialty sandwiches named after NPR hosts and it’s also delicious. Peter was also a contestant on CHOPPED, so thats tight.  We chat with him about his chef journey, what it took to open his own place, what goes down behind the scenes at Chopped, and so much more!
