The Nashville Predators took part in an optional practice on Monday at Centennial Sportsplex ahead of Game Four of their second round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the St. Louis Blues. Head Coach Peter Laviolette touched on the physicality of the series, while Roman Josi praised the rowdiness of the Loyal Legion in the playoffs. Craig Smith returned to practice, but it's unclear when he may be back on the ice. Defenseman P.K. Subban raved about Ryan Ellis' stellar postseason play, and talked about the team's "one game at a time" mentality in the postseason.

We kick off the show with a brief and subtle look back at the Nashville Predators sweeping the Chicago Blackhawks. Big Ben then spoke about his adventure at the Hero's Cup Tournament in Boston. Dan Rosen, Senior Writer for NHL.com, then joined us to give a great look at the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He was one of the few NHL.com writers to pick the Blues, and Glynne made sure he explained his reasoning. The Nashville Predators are going into Game Two of the Western Conference Quarterfinal up 1-0 on the Chicago Blackhawks, and they know what to expect in the opening moments of the game. Ryan Ellis, Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm and head coach Peter Laviolette talked about the importance of the opening moments, how crucial shot blocking is in the playoffs and how the team can improve in the second period tonight.

It's a playoff and championship edition of Penalty Box Radio! We spoke with him about Samuel Girard joining the team, mindset for the Calder Cup Playoffs, Pontus Åberg's tremendous season and how Milwaukee helped VIktor Arvidsson become the player he is today. Mason also discusses the Predators' goaltending. (12:40) Next, Wade Minter, P.A. announcer for the Carolina Hurricanes joined us to discuss the challenges the Hurricanes have faced this season, how he got his start in his role and some of the young talent currently producing for the Hurricanes. (22:40) Lastly, we tackle Twitter questions including the recent announcement of the Team USA Women's Hockey Team boycotting the IIHF World Championships, a report on the Milwaukee Admirals, who should be on the fourth line and will Ribeiro see the NHL again. It was a busy day around the NHL as the trade deadline passed at 2pm CST. We kick off the show looking at the only deadline acquisition for the Nashville Predators, P.A. Parenteau, who was traded from the New Jersey Devils for the 6th round draft pick. Justin also goes on another rant about ridiculous trade rumors and proposals. Next, Jon Lane of NHL.com joins us to take a look at the league overall following some of the madness of the NHL trade deadline from Kevin Shattenkirk, to Ben Bishop and the Mark Streit three-team trade.
