Terrell Davis explains why it was so much sweeter to have to wait to make it into the Hall of Fame, and what he thinks Terrell Owens' chances are of making it in. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk looks at the Alex Smith deal, Earl Thomas, and a ton of other stories around the NFL. Four-star defensive back Julius Irvin tells us why he chose to come to Washington over all of the other programs that were recruiting him.
We've finally made it. Softy and Shockey are broadcasting from the zoo that is Radio Row in the Mall of America. Were Earl Thomas' comments over the weekend really that big of a deal considering he only has a year left on his contract? If so, what should the Seahawks do with him? Doug Gottlieb of Fox Sports Radio stops by to discuss UW basketball's improvements over last season, and what the likelihood is that they'll make the tournament.
Given how far they've come from last year, if the Huskies don't make the tournament, could it still be seen as a successful season? Former Cougar quarterback Ryan Leaf talks about Tyler Hilinski, his own recovery from personal life struggles, and how the Cougars will move forward. Textimonials respond to the first two hours of the show.
Is Chris Carson (or more accurately, the lack of Chris Carson do to injury) responsible for the firing of Tom Cable and Darrell Bevell? Boomer Esiason breaks down this Sundays' Super Bowl game, and discusses the state of the NFL. On SHOT! or NO SHOT!: Could the entire Legion of Boom be gone a year from now?
Softy is still out with the flu, but is battling back and will be on air live tomorrow from Radio Row in the Twin Cities. Today, Terry Blount and Tony Softli are filling in. We start off the show by looking at why the Patriots have been so good for so long, and speaking of New England, what would Belichick do with Earl Thomas. The Huskies got a dominating win over the Cougars, but will they be able to make the tournament? Terry polled Twitter to find out how people thought the Super Bowl would end up. Unsurprisingly, most people thought New England would win, but a surprisingly large group thought they'd win by more than 7. Can the Eagles at least keep this game close? The Pro Bowl was Sunday, and it ended up being a decent game, but did anybody watch for more than a few minutes? The PGA tournament was a much better watch. Tiger probably isn't back, but the excitement for him proves how much the game still needs him.
Jeffri Chadiha of NFL Network and NFL.com discusses what has allowed Bill Belichick and the Patriots to remain so dominant for so many years, what Philadelphia's chances are in the Super Bowl, and what Earl Thomas' future might be. Tony Softli explains what he looks for in up-and-coming football players, and who impressed him at this year's NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Who would you want to see replace Pete Carroll if he leaves in a couple of years? We discuss this and the idea that San Diego could get a football team before Seattle gets an NBA team on Textimonials.
Tony Softli gives insight into what looks to be a deep running back draft this year, and what the Seahawks might do. Based on Kenley Jansen's comments, could baseball be headed for a work stoppage? On today's SHOT! or NO SHOT!: Could Earl Thomas be traded to Cleveland for multiple draft picks? Terry and Tony take a look at the Seahawks' coaching changes, and what roster moves might be happening in the off season.
Terry Blount is filling in for Softy today and we are breaking down the Seahawks to kick off the show. Are they more prepared for major changes that it seems from 30,000 feet? What should the Hawks do in the draft this year to help them for the future? Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk joins the show to look at the Cowboys and Kris Richard with possibly Earl Thomas (but probably not)
Terry Blount is filling in for Softy today and we are football heavy in our second hour. First, what are the actual chances that the reboot of the XFL could succeed? Earl Thomas wants a new contract, will the Seahawks play ball with him or take a pass? The Mariners have a slew of questions going into next season and we listen to Textimonials.
Terry Blount is filling in for Softy and we're all over the board in our final hour. Terry HATES the Pro Bowl and we look at the NFL's most underrated players. Tiger Woods looks like he might be sort of back and the NBA story-lines are on fire right now. Tony Castricone is on to talk Husky Basketball and Craig Gass finishes off the week with some laughs.
Baseball America says the Mariners have the worst farm system in baseball, but who is responsible? Jerry Dipoto says he feels good about the team's starting pitching, but Softy and Shockey both have their doubts. Dee Gordon comments on becoming an outfielder for the first time in his MLB career.
Mike Holmgren joins us once again this week to talk about the idea of full-time refs in the NFL, what it takes to defeat Tom Brady, the potential for another football league to compete with the NFL, and a whole lot more. Softy ponders the viability of the XFL at a time when some fans are frustrated with the NFL.
Ian Furness and Chuck Powell hang out with Softy to discuss the career of Edgar Martinez, and respond to the Hall of Fame announcement as it happens live. Softy explains why he is positive that Edgar will be inducted next year.
Softy gives us his favorite Edgar Martinez moments, and they probably aren't the ones you're thinking. Kevin Harlan almost makes a Super Bowl pick, weighs in on whether Tom Brady is the greatest of all time, and more. Textimonials weigh in on Hall of Fame results.
Softy reacts to an MLB Network panel discussing Edgar falling just short of the votes needed to enter the Hall of Fame. Petros Papadakis has some pretty strong opinions on Brian Schottenheimer. Could Marshawn return to Seattle? We give the definitive answer during SHOT! or NO SHOT!
