Who Won the French Shuffle? | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:06:03

In hindsight, the French roster shuffle just after the ELEAGUE Major was a pretty weird situation. It was easily the worst kept secret in esports, with the new French super team – which eventually became G2 Esports – rumored for months beforehand. All that gossip meant a lot of people assumed both G2 and Team EnVyUs would put in a poor performance at the Major, knowing their careers were about to change dramatically. This is exactly what ended up happening, with both teams struggling in Atlanta, and as expected in the days following the event it was confirmed that EnVyUs and G2 would be making roster changes. While it initially looked like there was going to be one new top team in town, we actually ended up with two, thanks to one of the wildest switch-ups in CS history.

There may have been two LANs going on, but this still felt like a quiet week in the world of competitive Counter-Strike. The NA Minor seemed to be done and dusted before it even began, and if any of the teams from the CIS Minor manage to make it to the Major itself then we’ll be available to be knocked over by a feather all summer. Outside of that, the only top-level online competition was the last week of ECS, and pretty much all the final placings were already confirmed, although the repercussions of GODSENT’s surprise victory over FaZe Clan did at least spice up the relegation battle. And of course we’re still playing Operation Hydra, pounding through those Guardian Missions, while Valve, having shipped the operation, evidently has some time on its hands again, because this week also saw the return of the banhammer. And how!

NA And CIS Minor Predictions | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:05:22

While the Asian Minor kicked the main road to the major off a few days back, we were all distracted by the ESL Pro League, so in our book the road to the major starts this weekend, with the American and CIS Minors. Some big names are being forced to make it to the major the long way, and with recent from raising a lot of questions there could be a few upsets in both regions.

 TLDW June 5th | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:05:30

Man, what a week! ESL Pro League Finals, the Asian Minor, a new rivalry, and such an intense concentration of big plays that we feel slightly over the limit. The past seven days have certainly been good for fans of competitive Counter-Strike, and not just the folks watching esports, because of course everyone else got to enjoy the 2v2 Wingman mode in Operation Hydra. There sure was a lot going on, but the ESL Pro League Finals were still the highlight for us. We saw a ton of top action, more than a few close games, and witnessed the birth of a new rivalry between G2 and North that we can’t wait to see continue.
