This week Abbey and Bri are sipping on hot toddies and Bri has a cold, so don't mind her nasally voice. The residents are playing a game this week, looking for points to win a special prize! Meredith is in therapy at the beginning of the episode, not talking . By the end of the episode, she creates a clinical trial to shrink brain tumors, and starts talking in therapy. This week on the podcast the incredible, cat loving, math teaching Jeanne scrubs in with Abbey and Bri. This is the episode where a bookcase falls on baby Tuck and Bailey and Big Tucker's marriage begins to fall apart. Despite there be a laundry list of terrible internal injuries, baby Tuck survives surgery and makes it out alive. We have a patient who is a healer. Hahn hates her (obviously) and has Karev walk her through the surgery so she can visualize it. Karev is a dark hole and brings in Izzie who is a yellow aura of gentle healing. We are not quite sure what happens to this patient. Meredith and Derek finally break it off, after she finds out that he kissed Rose. Who were you in high school? Were you popular? Were you a nerd? Where did you eat lunch? Was it in the bathroom like Bri? All things high school on this episode of The On Call Room! Does any of it even matter anymore? Probably not. As for our characters this week, Bailey is shook. Her super crush comes in after a bus accident and is all "Mandy!" which makes her laugh like a teenage girl. He's all sly, buttering her up, making her do his paperwork, AND THEN CLOSING HIS EYES ON HER (NOBODY PUTS BAILEY IN A CORNER). So, obviously she takes it out on Derek...makes perfect sense. And then we find out that Derek was a bank geek in high-school too. Cristina has never skipped a class. Meredith was weird and brooding. Lexie was valedictorian and prom queen. Izzie was pregnant. Karev was taking care of his Dad. Other than that all the patients are in high school. One dude has a pencil in his eye and ends up dying. It's pretty sad cause he leaves behind his dork friend. Moral of the story, no one is cool in high school, and if you were, you probably already peaked so that sucks for you. This week Abbey shares her experience with travelling to Honduras. If you are interested in more of the story scroll to the bottom for a link to her blog. Bri doesn't have very much that happened to her, other than a soccer game and fall weather. This is the episode that is so incredibly awkward. This is the episode where George and Izzie realize the *mind blowing sex* they had, that they have been waiting to have again, is not as they remembered. It is...aerobic and pretty bad. The whole episode is spent between the two of them trying to figure out the horizontal tango. It is a failure. Meanwhile, Bailey is running the hospital moving patients into rooms together, to encourage them to leave...and poop. She is fixing problems left and right and not taking any of the credit. Until, finally Chief calls her out, and acknowledges her hard work...he then proceeds to fire Callie. Meredith is still hating on Lexie, and Karev calls her out on it when he leaves to head to Joe's. Later that night he finds out Thatcher is an alcoholic. Chief and Derek are having a lovers quarrel over shirts and unlocked doors. Did we mention Chief is living on Derek's land? It all ends with George and Izzie faking a good romp...only to admit to each other they're lying. Who knows? Maybe they just don't have that chemical reaction. This week Abbey and Bri are taking Trans-Atlantic calls. That's right The On Call Room has ANOTHER guest from across the pond. The delightful Kelly scrubs in for a late night chat with your hosts.
