Suspense Author Jeff Crawford Visits Madame Perry. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

In another entertaining episode the Madame is visited by suspense author Jeff Crawford.  This mountain man and master of bone-chilling mysteries is currently on tour promoting his latest thriller Through Black Velvet Eyes.             This novel is set in modern times with shards of paranormal events slicing the suspense. Marley, a single woman in her early 30s, was blinded in the accident that took her husband’s life. Though she’s adapted to living alone Marley is apprehensive when it becomes clear someone is entering her apartment and moving items around when she’s out. The identity of this malevolent prankster is almost as shocking as that of the hero who comes to her aid.             Promotion of Crawford’s fourth novel began with a southeastern tour in February plus and a busy interview schedule in media outlets from the United State to Singapore. Listen in and meet this dark horse from North Carolina whose books are selling like mad. Madame Perry's Salon's opening theme music, Miss E's Vacation, is composed and performed by Denton Perry.  Art Harris, Suzi Parker, SJ Dunn On Sexual Predators, Vigilantes, & The Fallout | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:31:00

News stories of pedophilia create near daily outrage. Whether high profile offenders like Josh Duggar or the quiet guy next door the stories shock and sicken. Conversations from the water cooler to the bars range from revulsion to 'here's what I'd do,' which infers vigilatism. Two time Emmy winning journalist and producer Art Harris has reported on and written about many such cases. A veteran journalist, he created The Bald Truth, a popular news blog with attitude that counts well over a million page views its first year, and draws on Art’s three decades covering celebrity, politics, war, true crime, pop culture and Hollywood. It’s scoops are often featured and linked at ETonline, Huff Po, People.com, New York Post’s Page Six, CelebTV.com and others. Josh Duggar, Mike Huckabee & the Complicated Relationship the South Has with Sin & Denial is the title of a recent post in The Broad Side by journalist & author Suzi Parker. Parker writes for The Daily Beast, The Economist, and The Christian Science Monitor and others. . Author & publisher SJ Dunn's shock and horror at learning of the childhood sexual abuse of a friend prompted her to write her novel about three women who are adult survivors of child sexual abuse.  In ANGRY ENOUGH TO KILL what begins as a 'what if' conversation one night over wine becomes a plan to stalk and kill a predator.

Music Journalist Alli Marshall, Musician Joey Stuckey, | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:31:00

Music Journalist Alli Marshall hasbegun the promotional tour for her first novel, How to Talk to Rockstars, which was inspired by her years of interviewing musicians. The Western New York native was transplanted to Western North Carolina via Goddard College where she earned her MFA in Creative Writing before landing a job as the arts & entertainment reporter at Asheville’s alt-weekly news and arts paper, Mountain Xpress. A dozen years later she’s still at it, regularly interviewing musicians and artists of all genres, reviewing albums and writing articles. She also serves as the arts section editor at Xpress. Musician, songwriter and performer Joey Stuckey has no boundaries. In his spare time, we're guessing he never sleeps, he is a producer, adjunct professor, TV show host, studio engineer - at his own Shadow Studios - husband, and very active in his community of Macon, Georgia. He's worked with and is highly respected by many of music's luminaries. While in Nashville working a production gig with legendary Alan Parsons he suggested a subtle change with one of the instruments would greatly improve the recording. After testing the idea, Parsons deferred to his judgement and followed it by directing the crew to follow Stuckey's direction without question. Yet even the Eye In The Sky guy likely never imagined he would see video proof of the Macon guitar slinger carjacking a woman's BMW to get to a gig in the video for his Blues song Blind Man Drivin'. Mme Perry also had a few surprise guests that night! We welcome your calls.

Musician & Artist Don Smith In Madame Perry's Salon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

About two years ago I was in Biloxi, Mississippi with author Kerry Dunn for a Barnes & Noble event and his second television appearance. At the B&N signing we met musician/artist/coach Don Smith. I'm delighted that Smith will join us at Madame Perry's Salon and recommend that you check out his website , Facebook page, or ReverbNation site before the show. Pasagoula native Don Smith's reputation as a singer and songwriter has increased after working with the legendary Nashville producer Doc Holiday who said "Throughout my career as a producer with over 600 career charted records and 112 career #1 records I rarely come across a singer/songwriter tht has as much passion and skill as Mr. Smith.  His songs all magane to tell a unique story that the listener does not have to sit and analyze for an hour to figure out what the story is. His performance in singing is as relaxing as his songs and stories and is always perfection at its highest level." Smith's Nashville release Delta Wind is available on iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Authors Candace Dempsey And Doug Bremner Discuss The Knox Case And More | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:00

Madame Perry's Salon began as a blog. I wanted a small cyber version of the cultural salons of Europe, the United Kingdom, and Asia back in the day. One of my firsts guests was award winning Italian-American journalist Candace Dempsey, author of Murder In Italy, about the murder of Meredith Kercher. I look forward to talking with her again. It is also a delight to have as a guest a man whose work I've followed for years. Doug Bremner is a physician, researcher, professor, writer and film maker. His latest book, You Can't Just Snap Out Of It, is about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We'll talk about the Italian court's recent overturn of the conviction of Amanda Knox, the Amercan woman previously charged and convicted of Kercher's brutal murder; and other projects that Dempsey and Bremner have going on. This will be a fantastic interview and we'll take calls in the second half of the show. Please join us.
