 'Disintegration!' Chelsea FanCast #351 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:51:15

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Chelsea author and ESPN blogger Mark Worrall and the 'Reverend' Tony Glover to discuss the shambles that was the 3-0 defeat to Man City on Saturday. Another Saturday, another top day in the pubs before and after interrupted by a very poor 90 minutes of football. To be honest I thought we’d probably lose to City but the shambolic and passionless way in which we lost was depressing even by this horrible season’s standard. As a Chelsea supporter you can accept it when your team has no talent or if the opposition is just better than you but what you cannot accept are players with talent who show no passion, fight or seem not to care for the club or the supporters. The way their heads dropped when the second goal went in and they succumbed to the inevitability of it all and basically gave up was just so so depressing. On the show tonight we’ll be asking why we were so shambolic and should Hiddink take some of the blame? In part two we’ll be assessing Ruben...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We celebrate the 350th Chelsea FanCast tonight - the defeat to Swansea not so much! Join Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Chelsea journalist Dan Levene as they discuss the match against Swansea and all things Chelsea plus a special interview with former Chelsea player and TalkSport and Chelsea TV presenter Jason Cundy. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the conundrum of playing the youth and disinterested senior players whilst expecting decent results and asking was Guus right to ‘yank’ off young Miazga? In part two we’ll be asking who gives a shit – the Players; Manager; Club; the Supporters? We’ll also be rounding up this week’s Chelsea news on new manager Conte, potential departures and JT’s future. In part three, we have a special interview with Jason Cundy recorded earlier this week where I asked him about this season; Conte and what needs to happen this summer. To wrap up in part four we’ll have the usual round up of Chelsea supporter news and we’ll be announcing...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'Breaking Me Duck!' Chelsea FanCast #349 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:49:59

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and the man who made Gate 17 famous - Mark Worrall - to discuss Chelsea's win against Villa and all things Chelsea! So the duck finally made his debut against Villa on Saturday and the Chelsea faithful went quackers – first chanting “we forgot that you were here” and then after he scored his debut goal from the spot “we were there when Pato scored” – it was great to see that he didn’t duck out of the challenge and prove finally that he is more mighty duck than lame duck. I’m going to stop this now before you lot tell me to duck off! On the show tonight we’ll be talking about Pato’s debut and asking does he have a future at Chelsea, and talking of Chelsea’s future it was good to finally see some of the yoof getting a chance. In part two we’ll ask should we have sympathy for the Villains and what’s left to play for this season. In part three, we’ll be saying Announce Conte; asking what’s up with the Belgians and we’ll be bidding a sad...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

On the show tonight we’ll be asking were Chelsea dominated and lucky to get a draw or did the players show some fight to prove they haven’t downed tools for the summer…yet! In part two we’ll ask why did Guus start Remy instead of Traore; is Fabregas showing future captaincy potential; has Courtois lost confidence and is Oscar one of the most disappointing Chelsea players of all time?  'Reality Bites!' Chelsea FanCast #347 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:48:22

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver, Clayton Beerman and Chelsea author and football writer Mark Worrall to digest a somewhat depressing week for Chelsea. It’s hard to remember a worse week in recent times following Chelsea as we limply exited both the Champions League and the FA Cup. All this seemed to be compounded by Costa apparently being sent off for biting Everton’s Gareth Barry – whilst all of us can understand the desire to do Barry serious injury, thankfully Costa pulled his chompers away at the last second thereby avoiding a dreaded Luis Suarez scenario. In reality the only thing to bite was the realization that these two defeats mean that our season is over by March for the first time since the 90’s and an uncertain future awaits the club, players and supporters alike. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing what the Cost of Costa is to the club - is he a liability worth putting up with and with Lukaku scoring twice to put us out of the Cup – should the Chelsea brains trust be...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 'Naughty 40!' Chelsea FanCast #346 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:52

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and the 'Reverend' Tony Glover from the Podding Shed Podcast to discuss Chelsea's matches against Stoke and Norwich. Yep that’s right Chelsea have reached the points tally of 40 which means we have avoided relegation this year…probably. Joking aside, it was a disappointing week in hindsight as we clung on to win 2-1 away at Norwich and then snatched a draw from the jaws of victory at home against Stoke on Saturday, thus ending our 3 match winning streak. Were Guus Hiddink’s substitutions in both games at fault or are the players still not firing on all cylinders, or is the crazy old Dutchman merely prioritizing wins in the Champions League and FA Cup. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing what went wrong with the substitutions against Norwich and Stoke and asking has the team progressed under Guus and has the Dutchman given us false hope? In part two we’ll be asking if Guus is prioritizing the Champions League and FA Cup at the...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 'Brana-nised!' Chelsea FanCast #345 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:31

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman to discuss Chelsea's win against Southampton and all things Chelsea! I don’t know what it is about Southampton away, but it certainly seems to be a big favourite of so many Chelsea supporters, myself included. Nothing quite like the irony of an away day that is just down the road. Great day out, loads of mates, a decent friendly pub and cheap beer. What’s not to like! It seemed to appeal to Chelsea as well as they battled through a poor performance to grind out a win against a side that had not shipped a goal or lost in 6 games. Maybe like the mellifluous water of the Rivers Itchen and Test, the tide for Chelsea is turning. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing the apparent return of Chelsea’s mental strength; applauding an important win and asking was Guus too ruthless in hooking Baba off? In part two we’ll be asking if the likes of Fabregas and Brana have really shaken off their poor early season form and is Guus...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 'Citizens Caned!' Chelsea FanCast #344 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:06

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Ross Mooring and Tim Rolls, Chairman of the Chelsea Supporters Trust to discuss the games against Man City and PSG. Chelsea gave City’s youth a spanking with 5 of the best on Sunday to march onward to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, which for most supporters I know is still massive. Sadly the TV, the FA and most of all clubs like Man City seem to disagree. In fielding what was tantamount to a youth side, City basically threw the tie and in my opinion hugely disrespected the tradition of the greatest cup competition in world football. And they call us a plastic club with no history! Anyway, Eden Hazard wasn’t complaining and put in a performance redolent of last season with 3 assists and a superb goal. But is the little Belgian as happy as a Trappist monk after a night on the ale or is it all waffle? On the show tonight we’ll be discussing why the FA Cup needs to be respected and its traditions upheld and has Eden Hazard finally found his mojo? In part...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'Who Ate All The Magpies?' Chelsea FanCast #343 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:54:59

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Levene and Mark Worrall to discuss the destruction of Newcastle on Saturday and a look ahead to the games against PSG and City. Love was most definitely in the air on Saturday as we enjoyed one of the best days of this doom laden season. For once the excellent pre and post-match was matched on the pitch as Chelsea romped home to an easy 5-1 win against Newcastle. But, were we really that good or were Newcastle quite simply abject? Has the Chelsea juggernaut turned round or will we be talking about our season being over on next week’s show. Maybe we should just enjoy the moment, like the first body tingling kiss of a new and exciting relationship. On the show tonight we’ll be asking was this a good win for Chelsea or were Newcastle just easy pickings and while the front three maybe firing on all cylinders do we still have an issue in midfield? In part two we’ll be asking who should play in the number 10 role for Chelsea – Fabregas; Hazard; Willian or...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 'Drawing Conclusions' Chelsea FanCast #342 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:37

Stamford Chidge is joined by Dan Silver, Clayton Beerman and Ross Mooring to discuss the somewhat tepid draws with Man Utd and Watford and ask why Guus is being so cautious? Arguably one of the most tepid games in recent years between Chelsea and Man Utd yesterday as two teams clearly way below their title winning levels stumbled to a 1-1 draw. Why is Guus playing it safe rather than going for the win – are we really that devoid of talent and belief? What does he have to lose – absolutely nothing? But when all is said and done, at least we have stopped losing, so perhaps we should be thankful for that. It all adds up to a lot of disgruntlement from the supporters with Chelsea at the moment though, with the torpor on the pitch only matched by the lack of atmosphere off it. I had a great time in the pub before mind… On the show tonight we’ll be saying good luck to King Kurt Happy Zouma who looked to have sustained a season ending injury yesterday and ask how will we cope without him? We’ll also ask...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'The End is nigh' Chelsea FanCast #341 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:49:10

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman in an attempt to understand the news that John 'Captain, Leader, Legend' Terry's days at Stamford Bridge are numbered and to discuss the Cup win against MK Dons. Tonight we were supposed to be talking about an excellent 5-1 win against MK Dons, an Oscar hat-trick, hell, even a goal by Eden Hazard. But instead, we learnt last night that it seems that John Terry’s illustrious career with the club is coming to an end. We all knew he couldn’t go on forever, but surely the club would have the sense to realise the impact of the leadership characteristics someone like JT might have on the club on or off the pitch at a time of major transition. Is there such a thing as gratitude and loyalty anymore, let alone good management? Whatever the ins and outs – and I’m sure there is fault on both sides – it bears yet more testament to the emotional disconnect and palpable discord that so many supporters increasingly have with the club and...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

'Costa Makes the Lattes' Froth!' Chelsea FanCast #340 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:33:59

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Dan Levene to discuss a great win against those good old specialists in failure Arsenal and delight in the subsequent meltdown of their nerdy fans. There really is nothing in football quite like beating those specialists in failure Arsenal Football Club, if only for the complete meltdown by their nerdy fans afterwards. They now haven’t even managed to score a goal against Chelsea in over 9 ½ hours of football – 6 matches. Add to that we’ve beaten them twice in our worst season for 30 years. Let’s hope we’ve terminally damaged their title chances – that would be sweet and some compensation for our trauma this season. On the show tonight we’ll be discussing why Arsenal are officially Chelsea’s bitches and why their fans have ruined football. In part two we’ll be praising Costa and Fabregas and asking if they are well and truly back and will this win and performance against Arsenal lead to a charge up the table or was it just that...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

 'Blue Monday' Chelsea FanCast #339 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:51:53

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Ross Mooring and Dan Silver to discuss the draws against Everton and West Brom but mostly Captain-Leader-Legend John Terry's last gasp equalizer which provoked wild scenes in the Matthew Harding End! So it is officially Blue Monday which I suppose is great if you’re a Chelsea fan or a New Order fan, but we are supposed to be more depressed on this particular Monday than any other during the year. If you’re a Chelsea fan and a listener to this show on a Monday then that will be a familiar feeling this season and it very much looked like we would be having a very depressing show going 3-2 down to Everton in the 90th minute on Saturday. But, cometh the hour cometh the captain, leader and legend John Terry who with a cheeky back heel from on offside position leveled the score, jumped in to the Matthew Harding end to provoke wild scenes. But the feeling of a great comeback and the team at long last exhibiting some fight does not paper over the cracks that we are...  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In part one we discuss Ruben Loftus-Cheek's stunning goal and ask why more of the youth players didn't get a chance to shine. In part two we discuss the magic of the FA Cup and why it means so much to the supporters but do modern footballers care as much as we do? In part three Rory reveals what's behind the Chelsea Fans Channel on YouTube and the secret to its success as well as discussing why he loves Chelsea. In part four we wrap up with the weekly Chelsea Supporters' news. The Chelsea FanCast #338: 'All The Young Dudes'  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
