Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago.  Chicago Beer Pass: Argus Brewery | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago. On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White are on location at Argus Brewery on the Southside with Nick Lubovich, the Brewery Historian. Nik has been speaking the praise of Argus for years and finally got Brad to head to the Southside for a visit. Argus has a ton of history, not only with what they are doing on the beer front but also the building and the neighborhood. The guys get into some of this, including Argus joining Glunz, which means you’ll see more of their beer but also about the stories behind the updated branding and the artists they are working with on it. Argus should be the beer that you’ll want to have in your fridge at home. Although Argus isn’t open every day because they are a production brewery, they do have tours on the weekend. Check the newly updated website for information about that and if you haven’t had an Argus beer in a while, give it another try. Having issues listening to the audio? Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago. On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White are on location at Midwest Coast Brewing Company in the Chicago Brewing District. Midwest Coast Brewing opened their doors just a few weeks ago and honestly it had been an opening that Brad and Nik didn’t know about and had missed. The guys sit down with Brewer and founder Cameron Compton to talk about their beautiful space and delicious beers.  Brad & Nik chat with Cameron about how he got started brewing and how his home-brewing lead to opening up a brewery in Chicago. They also touch on the name and why there’s a dog with sunglasses in their logo.  Being just a few minutes walk from Goose Island and District Brew Yards means Midwest Coast Brewing is in the right place to get some beer lovers foot traffic. Even if the Green Line Damen stop isn’t going to be completed until 2021, there are plenty of thirsty folks already heading to that area. Hopefully, you enjoy this chat with Cameron and all the on-location episodes of Chicago Beer Pass, the guys are not only trying to drink beer from all these great breweries in Chicago but also capture their story.  Chicago Beer Pass After Dark: Beer Hype | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Welcome to the first episode of Chicago Beer Pass After Dark. These episodes are going to be a little different than the weekly episodes you have grown accustomed to hearing. Brad and Nik mostly are hoping these episodes don’t deteriorate into drunken rambling. The episodes are a bit more unfocused so expect some conversations to go off on tangents at times, but the guys do have a theme to keep them focused. For this first episode of Chicago Beer Pass After Dark, Brad, and Nik drink a collection of Phase Three beers that Nik has been hoarding. As they see how they all taste, they talk about hyped beer and breweries in Chicago. Talking about the hype train seems fitting for a show called Beer Pass, so grab your ticket, a beer and strap in for this hour-long episode. Having issues listening to the audio?  Chicago Beer Pass: Labor Day Drinking | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago. On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White are trying to hang onto summer just a bit longer as they crack open a few bottles of SPF from Goose Island. As the guys knock back this passion fruit delight, they chat about Brad’s road trip to Minnesota and Nik’s revisit to Jolly Pumpkin in Hyde Park.  Last week’s episode was pretty long so the guys do their best to keep this one at a more decent length.  Coming up this weekend is the first annual Kveik Fest at District Brew Yards. At $75, the ticket price might seem a bit steep but this is going to be a one of a kind festival and might be the first time many folks will be able to see what this Norwegian farmhouse ale yeast can do.  Chicago Beer Pass: Need More Whiskey | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago. On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White crack open cans of Halogen Farm from Hop Butcher For The World. It’s a treat to dive into one of these beers as the lines for samples are always ridiculous when you’re at a festival. As the guys crush some of this tropical haze, they chat about the Revolution & Jameson dinner they went to where they may have had one too many whiskeys. Brad also shared some details of his 50-mile bike ride where he hit up Twisted Hippo, Kings & Convicts, Ravinia Brewing, and Temperance.   These episodes seem to keep getting longer and longer, especially as the beer scene here in Chicago continues to grow. Brad & Nik try to keep these episodes around 30 minutes but some weeks, like this one there is just too much to say. Cheers! And hopefully, you enjoy this week’s podcast. On this episode of Chicago Beer Pass, Brad Chmielewski and Nik White survived their epic adventure at Oak Park Micro Brew Review and Half Acre’s Big North. As they recap their back to back beer festivals they are knocking back some cans of Metal Monkey’s Romeo Pils. Brad picked up these cans a few weeks ago when he was out at the brewery and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to give them a try.
