Episode 69: Lore of the Jungle | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Most people have had a chance to stray into the wilds of southern Mexico, or are in the final stages of planning an expedition this very minute. Either way, you'll probably want to gen up on what's ahead... So join Peter and Frank as they talk about what they've been reading in anticipation of The Forgotten Age, including Lovecraft's jungle adventure stories, some jungle textbooks and a field guide to swinging on vines and creepers. In the jungle.  There's not too much discussion of the scenarios themselves, but if you've not yet cracked open your deluxe box, maybe do that first, just in case! (And play the scenarios...)  Episode 68: Frank's First Look at Threads of Fate | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Frank for his first look at the player cards of Threads of Fate, the first mythos pack in The Forgotten Age cycle. To glance or not to glance, too too solid flesh, toot-toot.... there were a lot of cards with 2 cost in this pack and that felt like a thing!  Amazing logo courtesy of this guy Join Drawn to the Flame on Patreon: www.patreon.com/drawntotheflame Listen on iTunes: right here Subscribe to our RSS via Feedburner: right here Direct download: right here Email us on drawntotheflamepodcast@gmail.com Twitter is here and Facebook is here.  Episode 67: Welcome to the Jungle | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

The Forgotten Age deluxe expansion is still out, so join Peter and Frank as they talk about their first impressions of the scenarios, including: how to get lost in the jungle; what snakes lurk in the jungle; is it nice in the jungle; and who's that Alejandro fella?  Spoilers for the first two scenarios abound, and towards the end of the episode Peter and Frank look ahead to what's been announced about the campaign so far, too, so watch out for that. Episode 66: Laws of the Jungle | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

The Forgotten Age deluxe expansion is out, and with it came a slew of new rules and some new, rather terrifying basic weaknesses. Join Peter and Frank as they look at the challenges these new cards and rules might pose, the possible interactions they might provoke, and how they might be used in later scenarios.  Spoilers for the new rules and weaknesses incoming, as well as some vague Forgotten Age chatter! Episode 65: AGE | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Peter and Frank for a FIRST LOOK at the player cards - especially the Guardian player cards - of The Forgotten Age deluxe expansion. We dive in with a brief overview of the new Guardian investigator, and then look at what new tactics these macho men (and women) can pack. Spoilers, naturally, for The Forgotten Age.  UPDATE: we made a rules error in our Seeker episode: Ursula's reaction ability, because it creates a 'full' action, does also trigger attacks of opportunity should she move into a location with an enemy. Frank will add the full wording from Matt Newman to Arkhamdb soon, but in the meantime, please note we got it slightly wrong 3 episodes ago. We dive in with a brief overview of the new Rogue investigator, and then look at what new tricks and ploys Rogues can spring on unsuspecting enemies. Spoilers, naturally, for The Forgotten Age.  Special thanks to Paul for helping us choose this faction to cover.  Episode 60: Think on your Feet V | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Frank for the fifth Think on your Feet, in which Sefina Rousseau finds herself at the base of Sentinel Hill, staring up at the site of the evils of Dunwich. Can she make it to the peak in time to stop Seth Bishop's ritual? Will her Dunwich endeavours be for naught? In the Think on your Feet series, I endeavour not to edit much at all. Sometimes I cut a bit of shuffling sounds or abbreviate some of my longer pauses (a chap's got to think!), but otherwise, it's uncut, unaltered and meant to feel like you're with me at the table. There are mistakes and misplays a-plenty, but hopefully some successes too. But in this episode, in light of the Patreon support and because I want to take Drawn to the Flame to the next level, I've added some atmospheric details too. Hopefully they elevate the listening experience.  Here's the deck before Where Doom Awaits: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/132444.   **SPOILERS**: Here's the deck before Lost in Time and Space: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/132476.  Scenario 7 begins at 4 minutes. Scenario 8 begins at 40 minutes and 30 seconds.  During the edit I spotted a couple of misplays I made while playing. After I advanced to agenda 3 in LiTaS I forgot to draw an encounter card - I was too excited! - but that was countered by playing Narrow Escape a few minutes later. I used it to avoid an attack of opportunity from one enemy who in fact doesn't make attacks of opportunity! Whoops! So I could have saved myself a hit from the other enemy engaged with me.... more fool me! Episode 59: Chthonian | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Peter and Frank for a quick chat, all about The Chthonian Stone. What is it? What does it do? Should Peter's Mateo Castile run it?  This is a new style of 'quick chat' episode we're trying out - let us know what you think! Episode 58: Patr(e)on | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Peter and Frank for a look at the five patrons of Arkham Horror: The Card Game. Wait – five? Five?! FFG's finally announced Super Frank?!! Well, not quite - but listen in, all the same!  Amazing logo courtesy of this guy Listen on iTunes: right here Subscribe to our RSS via Feedburner: right here Direct download: right here Email us on drawntotheflamepodcast@gmail.com Twitter is here and Facebook is here.  Episode 57: Azathoth Returns! | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Peter and Frank as they come face to face once more with the blind idiot god, the daemon sultan itself – Matt Newman, lead designer of Arkham Horror! We're absolutely delighted to have Matt on the podcast once again, and this time we're talking about The Path to Carcosa, including the player cards and how the factions have developed this cycle, designer notes on the eight scenarios of the campaign, and then, a brief look at The Forgotten Age and what we might expect from central American adventures.  Thanks again to Matt and FFG - it's an absolute pleasure to have Matt join us and be so generous with his time!  Amazing logo courtesy of this guy Listen on iTunes: right here Subscribe to our RSS via Feedburner: right here Direct download: right here Email us on drawntotheflamepodcast@gmail.com Twitter is here and Facebook is here.  Episode 56: Inquiring Mind I | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Peter and Frank as they start a new occasional series (we hope!) for Drawn to the Flame: Inquiring Mind. In it, they talk to friend of the show and all-round good guy Benjamin, who's been trying investigators he's never tried before. The purpose of this series is to explore investigators not exactly comprehensively, but in terms of trying them for the first time: why hadn't Ben tried them before? What did he want to get out of the experience? And how did it go? In this episode: everyone's favourite urchin!  Episode 55: Think on your Feet IV | File Type: audio/mpeg3 | Duration: Unknown

Join Frank for the fourth Think on your Feet, in which Sefina Rousseau arrives in Dunwich village to find the place in a sorry state of perturbation. The villagers are keeping secrets and fell beasts roam the countryside... In the Think on your Feet series, I endeavour not to edit much at all. Sometimes I cut a bit of shuffling sounds or abbreviate some of my longer pauses (a chap's got to think!), and I normally aim to pare out the bus sounds (buses? in Dunwich village??) but otherwise, it's uncut, unaltered and meant to feel like you're with me at the table. There are mistakes and misplays a-plenty, but hopefully some successes too.  Here's the deck before Blood on the Altar: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/131203.   Here's the deck before Undimensioned and Unseen: https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/131231.  Scenario 5 begins at 4 minutes on the nose. Scenario 6 begins at 55 minutes.  There's a tiny misplay at 48 minutes: the whippoorwills hunt to Village Commons... except they can't, because it's not connected to where they were. It doesn't particularly affect the outcome of the scenario but it might have made things marginally easier for me... it's hard to say. But yes, in the fug of Blood on the Altar, I forgot some of the location connections! I also stopped mentioning what's in my hand quite as often... in fact, I don't think I do so *at all*. Let me know if it's too tricky to follow as that's probably pretty hard to track! Oh and at 1hr47 I forget about the -1 Willpower in the Whateley Ruins, which means I shouldn't have lost Frozen in Fear. Fortunately, I had enough actions to spare the following turn anyway! PHEW.  Amazing logo courtesy of this guy Listen on iTunes: right here Subscribe to our RSS via Feedburner: right here Direct download: right here Email us on drawntotheflamepodcast@gmail.com Twitter is here and Facebook is here.
