He is a well known historical figure in the region, and the Airport and the bus stand are named after him. June 27th is celebrated as his birth anniversary. One hot afternoon, a lion was fast asleep when a mouse entered the lion's den and jumped all around the lion, and thus woke him up. The lion caught him and was about to kill him, when the little mouse pleased with the lion to let him go. "I will help you in return some day". The lion was rather amused to hear this, thinking, “What good can he do me. . . ” but he let him go. A few days later, the lion was trapped in a net that was cast by some hunters. He struggled hard to set himself free but, he soon realised he was trapped. He roared with anger. The little mouse heard the lion’s roar, and see­ing the lion caught in the net, he started gnawing away at the net at once. The mouse had sharp teeth and he soon freed the lion. This is a story about a farmer and his lazy sons. Listen to this tale to know how the farmer teaches his sons the importance of hard work. The farmer worked very hard in the field, but the sone were least interested in farming. Instead, they would spend their time lazying around. The farmer once day fell very sick, and he felt that his end was near.  He called his sons to his side, and expressed his sadness because he had failed in making his sons realize the importance of hard working. He told the sons that there was a treasure hidden in the field, and that he wanted his sons to find the treasure. Once the old farmer died, the sons took up their sickles and ploughs, and dug up the entire field in search of the treasure. Three months thus passed, but they did not find any treasure. However, because of their efforts, they could raise a bumper crop, and make a lot of money by selling the grains.  The sons had learnt a valuable lesson that hard work yields great rewards.

This is a story from Bodhisatta's life. Bodhisatta once took birth as the valuer for a King. The King thought that the valuer would one day spend all his treasure, and decided to replace Bodhisatta with a dullard.
