Once the old farmer died, the sons took up their sickles and ploughs, and dug up the entire field in search of the treasure. Three months thus passed, but they did not find any treasure. However, because of their efforts, they could raise a bumper crop, and make a lot of money by selling the grains. The sons had learnt a valuable lesson that hard work yields great rewards.
