Doctor Who: Gallifrey Public Radio

This week, we talk at length about the newest expansions to the Eighth Doctor Adventures, the award-winning Dark Eyes series. When the Doctor meets a medical assistance volunteer from World War I who is unknowingly at the center of a plot that could unravel time itself, involving every threat from Daleks, to Sontarans, to the Time Lord Celestial Intervention Agency, to the Master himself, you need four intricate and intertwined series to truly do it justice. (And we needed nearly two hours to discuss it.) So enjoy this super-sized edition of Gallifrey Public Radio...after listening to Dark Eyes, of course...

This week, we put our Whovian memories to the test, and see which of us has the best mind for the minutiae of utterances. Was that snarky-sexy statement a River quote, or was it Jack Harkness? Was that Rose or Martha, speaking of the centuries-long legacy of lives and civilizations saved by the Doctor? And for crying out loud, what was the name of that one guy...with the mustache...in that episode...about the thing? We in the GPR studios put each other to the test in a new installment of our (mostly) good-natured DW-themed trivia games. Can you do better? This week, we look at the substantial growth Clara's character has had thus far, and discuss what we would both like to see -- and what we expect to see -- in the upcoming ninth series. Do we want her to continue her journey towards becoming more like the Doctor himself? Do we want her to find happiness and contentment with her lot in life? Do we want her unceremoniously killed off?

This week, we start by putting concerted effort into predicting those characters who would make the most sense appearing in Series 9. That exhausted, it all turns left, and we end up putting proverbial wishes in bottles, and hoping for character cameos as impossible as...well, assassin astronauts. Join us as we try desperately to keep it on the rails, only to rattle off course and fling ourselves wildly into theories that could (or should?) never come to pass.

You walk down the street, and every living soul you cast your eyes upon is a Whovian. This week, we have some fun with the strangest connections some merchants have made in order to capitalize on the Whovian market. Have a need for a TARDIS-shaped mini-fridge in the den? Why not?
