How Yaro Started Making Money Online – The Complete Background Story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:54

You may have recently watched the split-up video segments of my presentation at the Hive networking event recently. The audio on that presentation wasn't good, however I was also recording it via a clip-on microphone input to an Edirol audio recorder. I just transferred the MP3 and the audio turned out pretty good, so I've decided to share it with you here on my blog as a complete podcast of my uninterrupted presentation. [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ] This presentation takes you on an express journey through the last ten or so years of my life as an entrepreneur, including how I started my first money making website, then moved on to a proper online business model, eventually started blogging, creating information products and living the 2 Hour Work Day lifestyle. Toward the end of the presentation I covered some of the key concepts that have led to my success, like the 80/20 rule, leverage, strength analysis and business model selection. After that I take questions from the audience, which led to some interesting discussion. I hope you enjoy the podcast and are inspired to walk your own entrepreneurs journey. About the photo: If anyone needs a watch model, I'm available ;-) Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

Matt Mickiewicz, Founder Of Sitepoint, Flippa & 99Designs, Tells His Story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:46

Matt is the co-founder of one of the very first online forums I spent some time on, SitePoint.com, which today is a massive web community and information site. Sitepoint became a near-daily visit for me when I was focusing on buying and selling websites. The Sitepoint forums contained a marketplace which became the leading place to buy and sell websites. This section of the community was recently separated into its own site, Flippa.com, which is by far the premier destination for website flipping and has tons of listings and cool features for those interested in buying or selling websites. Matt and his team recently launched the innovative 99Designs.com service, which is a fantastic idea, linking people who need design work done, with freelance designers. You can submit a project to 99Designs and in a matter of days have up to as many as a hundred potential designs to choose from. You pick the best design, who "wins" the payment for the job, and you get the design. All three of these sites are tremendously successful, and as a result Matt has established himself as a leading player in the web development community online. In this interview Matt takes us back to the very beginning of his online success story, starting with his first website created when he was just 15 years old. Matt found himself on the phone closing $10,000 advertising deals in between classes at school, earning enough to buy himself a new BMW with cash by the time he was just 16. This is an incredible story of big time online success, yet Matt still works from his home office in Vancouver. His business partner lives in Melbourne, where they have an office and team, and there's also a smaller office and team in San Francisco. If you're thinking big with your online business, this is definitely an interview to listen to. Matt reveals how his sites have grown large, how they test different methods to make money and what today is their largest income stream. Special Bonus From Matt Right at the end of the interview Matt surprised me with a special offer to try out 99Designs. If you need some design work done I strongly recommend this service, I just used it myself to get a logo done for my next project and it was a great experience. If you post a project on 99Designs before July 15 and then send an email to matt@99designs.com including the URL of your 99Designs project listing, Matt will upgrade your listing and throw in some other bonuses. 99Designs can be used for more than just logos, so if you need a website designed, a custom WordPress blog them, your business card or stationary designed, flyers, leaflets or pretty much any design work you can think of, 99Designs is a great opportunity to get lots of options created, and you just choose your favorite. Thanks to Matt for the interview and the bonus offer. Here is the interview link again - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

How DJ Sean Gallagher Went From Broke To Surfing Mexico Thanks To His “How To DJ” Online Business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:31

One of the coolest thing about running this blog is the amazing people I meet, who are not just from my industry, but also in other industries doing really interesting things. Outside of Internet marketing, two of my passions are tennis and dance music. This blog has already gifted me some great connections in the tennis world, but for the first time recently, I met someone from the dance world - DJ Sean Gallgher. Sean emailed to introduce himself and explain what he is up to and I immediately took an interest in his story. Sean is a well traveled DJ from Vancouver in Canada, who has enjoyed an amazing career in the electronic music industry. What makes him particularly interesting, and why I invited Sean to do an interview, is that he currently makes his living by selling information products in the "How to DJ" market, which I think is just way cool. Sean is currently living out a year in Mexico with his girlfriend, spending the time surfing and working his online business, earning a healthy $8,000 to $15,000 a month. However the journey to get to where Sean is today was a rocky one. Although Sean has been successful as a DJ for a long time, his entrepreneurial career has been up and down, going as far as $100,000+ in debt with a failed online electronic music store, to taking a job selling cars (which he hated), to starting all over again with a new online business teaching how to DJ - and all of this before his 25th birthday! Listen to this interview and you will learn a lot about perseverance, even in the face of some challenging situations, where most people would have opted to stay in a boring job in order to recover, rather than continue to risk the entrepreneurial path. You will also learn the very practical steps Sean has taken to set up his online information publishing business, including how he creates training videos, builds his email list and finds buyers for his products. This is yet another success story that demonstrates if you are passionate about something, can teach it and others want to know how to do it, then you can sell what you know as information online. After you listen to the interview, make sure you visit Sean's websites - How To DJ Fast and StartupFreedom.com. Here is the interview link again - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

Transcript And MP3 Of My $180,000 Website Flipping Presentation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The response to the video I shared of my presentation - How I Made $180,000 Profit Buying And Selling Websites Part Time - was awesome, and as I promised, here is the text transcript for you. I'll also include the MP3 download if you just want the audio without the video. I'd appreciate it if you shared this with as many people as you think would benefit from the information. This presentation reveals some really practical details on how I made money investing in websites online, on a part time basis, and your friends will thank you for passing it on to them. Download the MP3 Audio only file [ 81 minutes | 56MB ] Download the PDF Text Transcript [ 41 Pages | PDF ] Here's the text transcript as a blog post (warning - this is 40+ pages long!). ****** How I Made $180,000 Profit Buying and Selling Websites Part Time Hi everyone. This is my story, since we were talking about stories. The first thing I’d like to clarify to people is that as you hear me, I probably sound like I have an accent to you. I do. I have a Canadian accent. However, I was actually born and raised in Brisbane, so I have not really Canadian parents but they studied and grew up in Canada, and the combination of listening to them and watching Sesame Street or something like that growing up, I picked up this accent. I was born and raised in Brisbane, so if you ask me any questions about it, I’ll know the answer. What I’m about to talk about is not what I do as a full-time business. This was something I did part-time. The reason why I guess I talk about this right now is you’re all running businesses and it would be a great chance for you to possibly consider doing this as an investment strategy for the profits you make from your business, or of course you could do it full-time. In my case it was an investment strategy. BACKGROUND Let me ask a question. Who here knows of my blog, www.Entrepreneurs-Journey.com? Not so many. That’s good. I usually speak to people who know me already, so this will be fun. I’ve been blogging for four years, and this talk has very little to do with blogging, but that’s how I’ve established my business and built up a profile online. That’s how I met Andrew and Daryl and so forth, so I’ve made money online and taken the money I made into a strategy of buying and selling websites. What I want to do is give you a bit of background to reach the point where I understood what it meant to make money from buying and selling websites. As I said, I was born and raised in Brisbane. I went to the University of Queensland and studied for a business management degree. Although it sounds relevant, I really didn’t gain any knowledge from that that I use with what I do today, but it was a great way to pass time. I had a lot of fun learning what the internet could do for me. While my friends were out getting drunk and doing stupid things on Friday nights, I’d often be playing with my website. It was a little bit geeky, but I really enjoyed it. In fact, my first website I can’t show you, because I don’t think we have internet access, but I had a Geocities website in 1999 for a card game I used to play called Magic the Gathering. I’ll talk about that later, because it has to do with one of the website deals I did. In 2004 I began blogging. All of you people who haven’t seen my blog, please remember my name or that website address. If you’re not into blogging, as I said, I won’t be talking much about blogging, but it’s been an amazing thing for me. It’s transformed my life in terms of the freedoms I’ve had and what kind of life I’ve been able to live and what kind of business I’ve been able to run. I got out of the university in early 2000 and I never went on to a full-time job, so it’s always been an online business for me. I’ve been lucky enough to always make enough money to get by and then some in more recent years, thanks to the internet. Where am I today?

How Fitness Freak Ryan Lee Became A Millionaire Information Marketer | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 54:54

Ryan Lee has a really impressive story, one that any person who has a passion that involves helping other people with problems, should hear. Ryan started out as a personal trainer and all around fitness freak. He worked hard to educate himself and then worked hard to build up a client base of people he helped as a personal trainer. That passion eventually lead to starting a website to share information about personal training, which eventually became a six figure online membership site, then several and eventually a multi-million dollar information publishing business. It all started with just Ryan, which is what makes this story so inspiring. Ryan literally started out just like you are probably right now - with nothing but your mind and body as a vehicle for leverage to build a business. He knuckled down, studied hard, served people and then leveraged the power of the Internet to break free of financial limitation. You will hear Ryan's passion in this interview, plus as I like to do, whenever Ryan said he did something, I stop and ask him the exact steps - like how exactly did he build his first website (with MS Frontpage!) and get traffic to it, and then how did he turn it into a membership site? This is a great interview, go listen to it now, and after you are done check out Ryan's site to learn more about what he does and how you can do it too - RyanLee.com Here's the download link for the recording - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

From Zero To Six Figures Online In Under A Year – The Tyrone Shum Story | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:31

This interview features Tyrone Shum, a serial entrepreneur from Sydney, who as you will hear considers himself a "generalist". [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ] I can tell you though, he's good at one thing - copying me! I've had to laugh a few times when I've received emails from Tyrone (I'm on his newsletter), and when I read them I notice the words are very familiar. Tyrone has literally taken up my invitation to "copy what I do" so far as copy and pasting some of the emails I use during launches, just changing a few words to match his products and websites. It has served him well, as he has managed to come online and within 12 months build up an income stream of over $10,000 a month selling information, following the blog + email list + membership site and affiliate marketing model I teach. Tyrone took part in my Membership Site Mastermind program and studied everything I do from my blog to the emails I send to my list. In terms of being an action taker, he's definitely one of the best people I know, and a stand-out performer from my program. Today Tyrone's niche is outsourcing, which he learned how to do with one of his previous businesses, turning it into an automated operation, requiring not much of his personal time to manage. He then went on to establish himself as an outsourcing expert, which is what his membership site Mass Outsource is about. However before he became an online information publisher and teacher, Tyrone had two successful businesses in some interesting niches. He got started as an entrepreneur with vending machines and then later on, due to his interest in Dragon Boat racing, started a shop selling Dragon Boat products (this is the business he eventually outsourced and used the experience to start his current online business). In the interview you will hear Tyrone explain how he has been able to succeed at three different businesses and how he so quickly became a six figure earner online (he did it in under 12 months!). You can find out more about Tyrone at TyroneShum.com. Here's the download link again for the MP3 of the interview - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

Buying And Selling Websites – David Jenyns Asks Yaro The Tough Questions | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

While attending Ed Dale's coming home live event in Melbourne last month, I met David Jenyns a serial entrepreneur and SEO expert. Listen to this interview and you will hear how I first began buying and selling websites for profit, including several case study examples, how I structure my life around the 80/20 Rule, what key lessons I've learned over the years as an entrepreneur, and a whole lot more. As usual I went a bit deep at times, so you've been warned! Press play to begin listening...  Podcast: What Does James Schramko Do Differently To Succeed Online? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:36

I had the pleasure of joining James Schramko on a panel at Ed Dale's coming home 2 live event in Melbourne recently. James and I have known each other for a while, however I hadn't had a chance to get his full background story, so over dinner in Melbourne he gave me a rundown of how he went from the head of a Mercedes dealership (earning $300,000 a year!) to quitting that job to become a full time internet marketer, now earning seven figures a year. Whenever I talk to James I always leave slightly confused, but always impressed with what he manages to do. He runs his business from home, working with a team of contractors from around the world. He has more online income streams than you can count on two hands and two feet combined, and is always learning more and doing more. He's one of the best people I know in terms of speed of implementation - he just gets things done. In this interview I ask James to explain how he transitioned away from his well-paid, full time job, to replace that income and then some more, using the internet. There's one particular point you should take away from the podcast. James is earning big bucks because he's leveraging (and his students leverage too) a gap in the marketplace that exists right now and is an opportunity for virtually anyone reading this blog. This is the gap between what we know as online marketers, and what mainstream, offline business don't know. You can fill this gap, and earn a solid living too, in your area. If you want clarification of what I am talking about, listen to what James says in the interview. I'm sure you will find his story inspiring and very applicable to you as well. After you do that, go visit his blog and learn more about how James does what he does and how you can benefit from what he teaches - Internet Marketing Speed Here's the download link for the call - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ]

Joanna Martin Explains How She Did A $60K Launch With A Tiny Email List | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:02

Dr Joanna Martin used to be a practicing medical doctor in Tasmania, then left that role to become an aspiring actor. Today she is a professional speaker focusing specifically on how to sell from the stage. Joanna makes incredible money, to the tune of a seven figure business, by speaking around the world, however that's not what this interview is about. In late 2009 Joanna and her husband Greg were at an Internet marketing event I attended and we got talking about selling info products online. Joanna wanted to create a new income stream from the web, selling information products like continuity programs and home study courses, based on the materials they already had. While Joanna loves what she does on stage, having a stable online income source to match her profits from speaking is an important goal, so she's not dependent on being somewhere presenting live to make money. I gave Joanna and Greg access to my Membership Site Masterplan report and the Membership Site Mastermind course and they went away and immediately took action. The end result was a small trial launch of an info product to their existing list of just 1500 people, generating more than $60,000 in sales in a couple of weeks - not bad for such a tiny list and no affiliates. In this interview I asked Joanna to break down exactly what she did to launch her product and get such a tremendous return on such a small starting point. If you're interested in learning more about Joanna and selling from the stage, make sure you visit shiftspeakertraining.com/blueprint to download her free report, and also check out her personal blog, JoannaMartin.com.au Here's the download link again for the call - Mp3 Download [ Download MP3 | iTunes | Soundcloud ] And here's a reminder that Membership Site Mastermind is open too - How To Launch Your Info Product Online Membership Site Mastermind Training Program My coaching program on how to launch your own information product online is open again for a new intake of students. If you want to study the same materials Joanna did, take this course - www.membershipsitemastermind.com/SignUp/

How To Profit Helping People Become Famous – Interview With Laura Roeder | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:11

This interview is a great story, which for many online entrepreneurs will seem very familiar - as it was for me. Laura is young, but she's not young in terms of how long she's been running an online business. Like many people who got started online, her first "business" was freelance web design, however today she's doing something a little more unique.

Will Hamilton Reveals How He Makes Six Figures Online Teaching Tennis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:14

How John Jonas Outsources To Full Time Staff For As Little As $200 Month | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:13:02

John Jonas and I spent several months trying to connect to get this interview done, but it was worth the wait. I was referred to him via Adam Short from Niche Profit Classroom as a guy who has a unique insight into a particular type of outsourcing online - in this case, hiring people specifically from the Philippines. Why the Philippines? Well there are many reasons, most of which John outlines in this interview, and by the end of it I'm sure you will be rushing to look into this method yourself. This is a really, really good podcast interview. It's one of those discussions where the person being interviewed is willing to share the exact steps used to get something done. If you have ever considered doing any outsourcing online to help grow your business, listen to this call. Outsourcing Is Not Always Easy I've been telling people to "outsource" for many years, and unfortunately a lot of people come back to me with stories about how difficult it is to find quality contractors. Common wisdom with outsourcing is that you go to a site like elance.com, guru.com or rentacoder.com, submit a job and then attempt to find the best person to get the project done. This can work, but it's hit and miss and in most cases you have to go through some "bad" experiences before you get to the good people. John Jonas has a different system, one that focuses on hiring people full time at very affordable rates, and then establishing a long term relationship that's more like an outsourced employee than a odd job contractor, who only works with you when you have a project on. When I say a relationship with his outsourcers, John well and truly trusts his people. He's willing to give them access to his hosting accounts and even his Paypal account. There's a lot of trust required to be that comfortable letting other people, especially people in another country far away, have control over pretty much everything in your business. If you're curious how John can do this, listen to the interview and you will find out how. Show Notes How John started off and was able to quit his job thanks to online marketing How he first found out about outsourcing to the Philippines Why John stopped using elance type sites and instead started hiring full time John explains an entire case study of how he had his outsourcers set up an entire income stream that they manage without him Why John is able to trust his outsourcers with every aspect of his business What website options are available for outsourcing to the Philippines John takes us through an example of how to locate a Philippino worker using the website he uses to find good people We discuss the ethical concerns of hiring a full time worker for as little as $200 a month What John teaches in his ReplaceMyself.com website Want To Outsource To The Philippines? If you're interested in doing what John does, and getting access to more training materials and his system you can use to train your outsourcers once you hire them, check out John's site, ReplaceMyself.com. John spends much of his time helping to outsource the way he does because he enjoys it, and since so much of his business is outsourced already, he has the time to do so.
