Red River Writers Live - A GOOD STORY IS A GOOD STORY HOSTED BY MARSHA CASPER COOK | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:30:00

Please join Marsha Casper Cook and Abbi Glines as they welcome Sala Lewis a Holocaust survivor. Sala is a speaker at the Holocaust Museum in Chicago where she frequently speaks to students from all walks of life. Sala believes in the message of hope and love which is why she is greatly appreciated at every function she speaks at. She will be discussing her life story and how she survived in the camps. Sala was in the same camp as Anne Frank but unfortunately Anne did not survive but Sala did. Her book is called Sala, More Than a Survivor and Marsha Cook is the author. Sala will be discussing how at the age of ten was left to fend for herself and wonder the streets of Poland and watch in horror as her family was taken away by the Nazi’s. She had lost everything and everyone she knew. She was powerless and had to over come obstacles that at age ten seemed unconscionable. She eventually was fortunate enough to find her sister Dora, and she found a renewed sense of vigor that would stay with each of them for the rest of there lives. Sala is truly a survivor, and her story is riveting and proves that adversity can breed a life filled with love. This is a story you will never forget.

Red River Writers Live - Book Discussion with Fran Lewis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:00:00

May 19th show Red River Radio is proud to announce the third edition of Book Discussion with host Fran Lewis. We are so excited to have two outstanding authors featured on today’s show. The first author is Marion L. Thomas. Marion’s book is ColormeJazzMyNe and it is an outstanding novel that deals with many issues that both families and women face today. Here is a little taste of what you can expect when you read this novel and part of my review to entice listeners to buy this book and use it in discussion groups. Our lives are often embedded in the many colors that we create to outline journeys we take in life, our important moments, emotions and the events that create our author Marion L. Thomas so brilliantly states, the crayon box of colors that are the many facets of colors of Jazzmyne. The memories that are etched in our minds, engraved in our hearts, replayed in our minds, are never turned on silent or off. Our second author comes from Israel. Eva Etzioni Halvey is the author of three bestsellers. We are showcasing The Triumph of Deborah today and it deals with many of the same issues that Marion’s book does but back in Biblical Times. In the Triumph of Deborah, our author weaves a web of intrigue, deceit, heartache and courage that follows each of the three amazing women intertwined in this novel of hope and understanding between the Israelites and the Canaanites. We welcome both distinguished authors and the members of our book club discussion group and my assistant Tina Roberts. Members of the book club are Jeffrey B Allen, Barbara Ehrentreu, Tina Roberts my assistant and myself Fran Lewis. This show proves to be exciting, mind stimulating and quite informative.

 What's Write for Me | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:30:00

Dellani's stepping out in a new direction with this month's show. On Wednesday, April 28th, Dellani chats with S.A. Bailey, author of "And the Rain Came Down" - a gritty detective novel he calls "Redneck Noir". Dellani's other guest is horror author, Nicholas Grabaowsky. We'll be discussing, among his other accomplishments, his novel "Red Wet Dirt". This looks to be an exciting, fascinating and, possibly, terrifying show. Join Dellani, Nicholas and Seth for What's Write for Me. Due to the nature of the genre and the language in the novels, I have given this show a mature rating. My goal is to promote these novels to their target audiences, not to offend tender eared listeners. So if you're put off by horror, gritty crime or explicit language, this show is not for you.
