Today on Insight, experts from a variety of fields react to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the confirmation of U.S. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the seat of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Earlier this summer, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford wrote a confidential letter to Rep. Anna Eshoo and Sen. Dianne Feinstein to allege that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both teenagers in suburban Maryland in the early 1980s. The accusations remained anonymous until the Washington Post broke the story on September 16. In the two weeks since that story broke, Americans have reacted strongly to the allegations and partisan confirmation process. On Thursday, Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh testified at length before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Joining Insight today are Pamela Lopez with Work Equity, Maggy Krell with Planned Parenthood, John Finley with California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Political Junkie Ken Rudin, UC Davis writing instructor Andy Jones, and WEAVE CEO Beth Hassett.

You can attend Stories on Stage Sacramento on Friday, Sept. 28 at the CLARA Auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. The program features “Keep Your Mouth Shut” by Kamea Pascua, plus works by Kelilah Thomas from Cosumnes River college, Andrew Blaisdell from Sacramento City College, and Patti Santucci from American River College.
