Summary: <p><em>Editor's Note: The audio for this segment has been edited for length and clarity.</em></p> <p>Stories On Stage Sacramento returns with its annual program featuring a quartet of short stories written by students from the Los Rios Community Colleges. Author Kamea Pascua is a second-year English major from Folsom Lake College. She contributes to the school newspaper and literary magazine.</p> <p>Her memoir story “Keep Your Mouth Shut” explores the feelings and experiences from surviving an abusive relationship with her ex-husband. Kamea Pascua spoke with Beth Ruyak at length about that time in her life, using writing and meditation as a path to healing, and the process of coming to terms with her abuse.</p> <p>You can attend <a href="https://storiesonstagesacramento.com/">Stories on Stage Sacramento</a> on Friday, Sept. 28 at the CLARA Auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. The program features “Keep Your Mouth Shut” by Kamea Pascua, plus works by Kelilah Thomas from Cosumnes River college, Andrew Blaisdell from Sacramento City College, and Patti Santucci from American River College.</p> <p> </p>
