Paul Levitz return to the Legion is finally here!  Join Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul as they discuss the issue in detail, and then stick around for some general comic book chatter!

We left you on a cliffhanger last week, but fear not, because this week, we have the Legion Chain Gang, from Adventure Comics #360.  Before we get to that, Matt has an interview with artist Chris Sprouse.  All this and the giddy anticipation of a new Legion comic!

It’s back to basics for the Subs, as Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul return to the old Adventure days to talk about Adventure Comics 359, as the Legionnaires land themselves in jail.  Discussion of some of the source material for Mark Waid’s run, Supergirl as fair weather friend, and a Stump the Subs, and you’ve got some classic, old-school Substitute Podcasters!

In this episode, we chat with Jack Briglio and Alex Serra about the Legion cartoon, their experiences working on Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century, favorite Legion artists, battling Computo with Skype-Falls-Off Boy and what they’re working on next!

Legion of Three Worlds inker Scott Koblish joins Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul in this episode.  Many topics are discussed, and an attack by Computo is staved off.  Life in the Bullpen, lessons in pencilling and inking, and which Legionnaires will help Scott deal with the Zombie Apocalypse.  All this and more, as the Subs ramble about for a couple of hours.

In what has turned out to be the most prophetically named episode EVER, the Subs do what Brainiac 5 should have done the second he started to have Computo troubles, they call in an IT guy! Listener Chris Mosby joins Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul to discuss Legion of Super Heroes Annual #1, and learn what happens when the Legion faces a Monster in a Little Girl’s Mind. All of this, plus Stump The Subs, upcoming Convention appearances, a tribute to the late Dick Giordano, and much more!

Now that they’ve reset the timeline, the Subs are back with the real episode 78. Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul delve into Legion of Super Heroes #289. Saturn Girl and Timber Wolf get cozy, and things start to turn around for Colossal Boy. Chameleon Boy, however, gets a rock.

When the Time Trapper attempts to encroach on the recording of an episode, Matt knocks him out and reboots the timeline. In the new timeline, the guys never started a Legion podcast. Their love of John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad led them to start up a show about The Wall and her little band of super-villains. Happy April Fool’s Day, all!

Darren, Scott and Paul travel to Reading Pennsylvania to attend the CGS Super Show. As they record in the same room for the first time, they are joined by guests Alexander Serra, Jack Briglio, Jamal Igle and many more as they discuss the Legion, fun in comics, bad 90s comic fashion choices, and whether or not Darren’s feet will burn as they meet Yankee soil for the first time.

Karate Kid and Projectra are in trouble on Orando, as Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul continue their look at the Levitz/Giffen run of the Legion. Discussion of super hero infidelity, super karate, and collars way too big to fight with.

Chameleon Boy’s Espionage Squad lands in hot water on Khundia as Darren, Matt, Scott and Paul tackle Legion of Super Heroes 287. Keith Giffen takes the lead feature, while Pat Broderick pencils the backup story, which foreshadows the Great Darkness Saga. All this and a new rule for the drinking game. Kathoom!

Travel back a bit further in time to the early 80s, when 12 year old Darren bought his first Legion issue. Pat Broderick, Paul Levitz, super-powered volleyball, Dr Regulus, and our first sighting of the Giffen/Mahlstedt pairing that we would get to know so well.
