Occupy Radio: Create Your Own Narrative, with Tim DeChristopher | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3514

Climate activist, Tim DeChristopher spent 21 months in jail because he protested an illegal oil and gas lease sale in the Canyonlands of Utah. The auction was ruled illegal and canceled, but Judge Dee Benson prohibited Tim from using the canceled sale as evidence in his trial. Judge Benson also prohibited Tim from using his political beliefs and moral convictions as part of his defense. However, Tim's politics were front and center when he was sentenced.  If the government hoped to break Tim DeChristopher, they were wrong. This week on Occupy Radio, Tim tells us how he was strengthened by the experience of going to prison for his convictions. Tim talks about his new-found celebrity and his plans to make use of it to help change the face of activism and politics in America.  http://www.peacefuluprising.org/ http://www.peacefuluprising.org/tim-dechristopher http://www.bidder70.org/ http://www.bidder70film.com/

Occupy Radio: Bruce Schneier: NSA is Wasteful and Dangerous | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3563

America is a bully. We forced down the plane carrying Rafeal Correa, the president of Ecuador because he might have had Edward Snowden onboard. Our NSA is sucking up phone and email data from all over the world. And let's not forget the drones. We don't care about borders, or alliances. Whatever the secret mission of America happens to be, we will bomb you or illegally hoover up all of your data to make it so.  This week, on Occupy Radio, I talk with author and security Guru, Bruce Schneier about the intersection of corporate and government spying, the perpectual state of manufactured fear and the demographic hope for the future. The NSA may be a rogue agency, but history, Bruce says, is on our side.  http://www.schneier.com http://www.schneierfacts.com http://www.schneier.com/crypto-gram.html

Air Occupy: Congressman Alan Grayson on TPP, Snowden, Debt Slavery, and more | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3407

We spoke with U. S. Congressman Alan Grayson about the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, the recent revelations by Edward Snowden about United States' spy apparatus that is sometimes aimed internally, working from within the system for change, how corporations are using debt to enslave us, and much much more.

Air Occupy: Chris Hedges | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3321

We talked with Chris Hedges, bestselling author, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and former Middle East bureau chief for the New York Times, senior fellow at the Nation Institute and columnist for TruthDig. We spoke with Mr. Hedges about media, Occupy, and the implications of the NDAA indefinite detention clause. Given Mr. Hedges's involvement in suing the Obama administration over that clause - a case he won in district court, but which has since been appealed - and his unique experiences as a foreign correspondent in the Middle East, this was quite an informative and interesting discussion. In a related note, Mr. Hedges also wrote State of Fear, the piece published in TruthDig on FBI surveillance of Occupy, specifically highlighting Shannon's experience. Though we did not discuss that article directly, we did cover the very real effects of surveillance and encroachment on civil freedoms on the public voice and media.

Air Occupy: Noam Chomsky | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3416

Noam Chomsky, Professor Emeritus in the MIT Department of Linguistics & Philosophy. In addition to authoring groundbreaking work in the field of linguistics, Professor Chomsky is a prolific writer and speaker on many topics, including foreign policy, media, politics, and war. He has been a vocal supporter of the Occupy movement, and in May, he published a book entitled "Occupy" through Zuccotti Park Press/Occupied Media Pamphlet Series.
