Join your Felice Gerwitz your host, and her guests Patricia and Meagan Samuelsen a mother-daughter team writing in Sugar Land, Texas (a suburb of Houston). Patricia Samuelsen earned a B.A. in history in 1978 from The King’s College and a Master of Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. She worked as an Information Specialist for the Regional Information and Communication Exchange at Rice University, and designed a data processing library for a drilling fluids company in Houston before becoming a full-time mom. The Samuelsens homeschooled their three children for 19 years. Since 2001, Patricia has taught classes for home-educated students in humanities and worldviews as well as Latin.  Meagan Samuelsen was home-educated through high school. In 2009, she graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a minor in Theatre. She spent the following year teaching English as a second language in Trujillo, Peru. She is currently working towards a Masters of Science in Information Studies in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. Rebecca's choice to roam through the Bob Marshall Wilderness for 15 years by horeseback has become a book in its second printing—everything from encounters with grizzly bears to the breath-taking stories of when she was caught in a 240,000 acre forest fire. In 1992 she felt led to enter a Guideposts writing contest even though she had no interest in writing—or talent, she thought. Then, out of 5400 manuscripts, she won.
