7 Habits For Happiness in Life and Business   Isn't life and business funny? For me, I pursued what I "defined" as "success" in my business for a long time, and while I did achieve it, looking back now, I realize that I was not pursuing "happiness" in my life and business for quite some time. Yes, I did eventually "get it" but I created a lot of un-harmony, and un-balance that was unnecessary. Well, hindsight is 20/20 and there is no since looking back, except to create something to help others avoid those same pitfalls! So, welcome to this 39th podcast on creating happiness in Life and Business! I got this concept from an article I read in Networking Times Magazine, the Sept/Oct 2013 issue. It's by Mark Fornier, and you can learn more about him at his website! I have paraphrased his exact "habits" to fit with what we do here in Network Marketing, and I expand on each and share some of my own stories, challenges, shifts and successes as I have worked through these!   The Happiness Habits!   Happier Habit #1 - Create the habit of asking yourself and others - "What is great about this?" when faced with challenges and perceived obstacles.   Happier Habit #2 - Replace the habit of focusing on and complaining about what is wrong or missing in your life. Find the silver lining and good stuff!   Happier Habit #3 - Replace the habit of comparing yourself with others who you perceive to have more than you with those who have less (or what you've done in the past and how you have grown!)   Happier Habit #4 - Replace the habit of focusing on the past, or even the future with focusing RIGHT NOW. The past does NOT equal the future.   Happier Habit #5 - Replace the habit of needing things to go your way with knowing that all is right and will work out. (I share an interesting insight I learned from my daughter!) Objections - How to Handle Them in Your Business   Oh, objections - this can derail a new team partner faster than anything, if he/she doesn't have the key skills to use good success language to defuse the objection. The key to success in dealing with objections is good language and posture. The key to objections is NOT to let it rattle your cage, but rather keep your posture and put it back to them. Nicely but firmly. Before you spend a lot of time here, make sure you have a viable prospect not just someone hassling you! I don't personally like to spend a lot of time "overcoming" objections because my goal is NEVER to sell someone into the opportunity, I want excited, motivated people on my team...not someone I am going to have to drag every step of the way. How an Online Business Really Works   The Internet has been a key tool in allowing me to build a successful business. I can't imagine my life or my business without it. Beware though - it doesn't happen without confusion and distraction.   More on List Building for Your Online Business   Some of the most common questions I am asked revolve around the list and how to go about this part of building the online part of your business. Your list is your fortune; this is your audience. Your list is totally different than your fans, friends, followers and connections on sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media sites. You don't own those sites, or that list. You don't control who sees your updates on those sites and who doesn't, to some extent. You don't control whether those sites stay live, kick you off, and so on. Here are two good examples - MySpace and Squidoo. MySpace practically disappeared overnight, and Squidoo kicked off all Network Marketers and closed down their lenses. Ouch!
