 #168 - John Wesley Shipp | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:43

This week, Tommy Riles surprises Art Eddy with another special guest co-host. Tommy brings on his dad, Tom Riles Sr., to chat about family memories and that there are no heroes when it comes to trampoline accidents. Then the guys bring on actor John Wesley Shipp on the show. There are some actors who over the years got typecast. John Wesley Shipp is not one of them. Shipp has played the role of good guy, bad guy, a cop and even a super-hero. I remember when my mom and sisters watched All My Children seeing him play a character named Carter Jones. That was back in 1992. Also, back in the 90's, Shipp starred in that decade's version of The Flash. I would watch that show with my dad. I was a big fan of that series. Now Shipp, who has done theater, films, and many TV shows has come full circle with his role on the CW series The Flash as Henry Allen. As Henry he plays Barry Allen's dad. Barry, played by Grant Gustin, is The Flash. In this series Henry is incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit. Now Barry looks to clear his dad's name. This role became even more surreal for Shipp when his former 1990's The Flash co-star, Mark Hamill returned as the role of Trickster. I was able to chat with John about his role as Henry Allen, comic cons, acting, and reuniting with Hamill on set. Make sure you check out John in Season 2 of The Flash starting on Tuesday, October 6th on the CW. Follow John Wesley Shipp on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Tommy Riles and Art Eddy are joined by Tommy's four-month-old daughter, Katie to talk about water on Mars, football, pumpkin picking and the blood moon. They then bring on the one-and-only Tony Hawk. Legend has it that at 9 years old, Tony Hawk was given a blue fiberglass skateboard from his older brother. From that point on Tony started down a path that would turn his life upside down. Even at the early age of 12 he was winning amateur contests throughout California. Two years later he turned pro. Two years after that he was widely considered as the best competitive skateboarder in the world. As he got older and more popular he started to travel the world and hosted skating demos and contests. Even when there was a dip in popularity in skateboarding Tony kept on doing what he loved. In 1999, Tony teamed up with Activision to create the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game franchise. The Tony Hawk video game series became one of the most popular game franchises in history and continues to this day. At the X Games, Tony became the first skateboarder to ever land a 900, a maneuver he had been trying to accomplish for 10 years. His Boom Boom HuckJam Tour featured some of the top skateboarders, BMXers and freestyle motocross riders in a giant tour that played in large arenas and theme parks across the country. Tony has won numerous awards as well. Some of them are Make-A-Wish's Favorite Male Athlete, Teen Choice Awards' Choice Male Athlete and Nickelodeon's Kid's Choice Awards' Favorite Male Athlete. Tony also has given back to his community. His Tony Hawk Foundation has funded over $5 million to over 550 skatepark projects throughout the United States and now the World. This Tuesday, September 29th, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 offers a fresh take on combo-driven skateboarding, the most advanced online multiplayer experience, and a state-of-the-art skatepark builder.
