At Macworld | iWorld 2012, Ken Ray of Mac OS Ken fame joined Chuck Joiner of MacVoices for a discussion of "Mac, iPad and iPhone Essentials: The Stuff You Gotta Have." Rather than focus on all the cool new products at the show, Ken and Chuck reviewed some of the hardware and software that they can't do without…or at least would rather not do without.

A new exhibitor to Macworld | iWorld 2012 was Sort Shots. Creator Christa Taylor explains how Sort Shots for iPad helps you organize and arrange your photo library via key words, orientation, star ratings and more. For those who prefer the folder metaphor, Christa's Photo Folder has you covered. Just create a folder, move or copy your photos into it, and you're set for a slideshow.

A must-see at Macworld | iWorld 2012 was Art Authority for iPad. Jim Teece of Art Authority reviews the impressive credentials of their app that gathers together the world's great art works before giving us a tour. Explaining how Art Authority not only lets the user view, but also "touch" and interact with art in a way that is just not possible in any other medium. With features like "Art Near Me" that helps you find art that is local to your location, a new social networking option for art lovers and the ability to have one piece of art lead to another are just some of the ways that Art Authority helps bring art into your life in a more important, approachable way.

At Macworld | iWorld 2012 we talked to Hillary Money in a crowded Blue Microphones booth about their new products. Hillary showed us the improvements and enhancements of the Sparc Digital is a studio level mic that can connect to both your Mac and iPad and the new version of their iOS device mic, the Mikey Digital.

The Global Delight booth at Macworld | iWorld 2012 had a similar look to last year: another "Best of Show" award, this time for their new video editing app for the iPhone, Game your Video. Rahul Arun Shetty showed us just how easy and fun it is to add effects and edit footage captured on your iPhone, but also how you can do much of it in real-time as well. Rahul talks about why they chose to develop the app for the iPhone, what's next, and surprises us yet again with the price.

Delivering an easy, intuitive method of creating panoramas with the camera in your iPhone or iPad, TourWrist was a hot topic at Macworld | iWorld 2012. TourWrist CEO Charles Armstrong talks about how easy it is to create and share the world around you in a 360-degree panorama, and shows the intuitive viewing experience available on your iDevice.

At Macworld | iWorld 2012, Andrew Smith of Studio Six Digital describes their new iAudioInterface 2 a tool for use by audio engineers to do work on everything from your home theater set-up to a stadium concert environment. iAudioInterface 2 provides an XLR microphone input, a Toslink digital audio out, and a digital audio link to your iOS device among other features. Even though a professional-level tool, there are are plenty of uses for the device by the audio enthusiast. Andrew discusses both while showing off the hardware.

The Ecamm Network presence in the OS X Zone at Macworld | iWorld 2012 was dedicated to Printopia. Chris Kent talks about the latest features of the utility that lets you easily print from your iPad.

One of the more intriguing conversations we had at Macworld | iWorld 2012 was with Tracy Evans of Theatrics, the producers of the online sci-fi video series Beckinfield. Billed as "mass participation TV," Tracy explains how it all works to put you, me, anyone into the series as a character, their Tech Talk with special guest Jonathan Frakes and what part he plays in this, and why it could be the future of television.

From the OS X Zone at Macworld | iWorld 2012, Tom McVay discusses the two primary components of Marketcircle's offerings to business. Billings Pro is a multi-user time tracking and invoicing solution, and Daylite helps you with managing your projects, team and overall business. With customization options available through a network of partners, Marketcircle can be as simple or as complex as your needs demand.

Another enterprise software company making themselves known in the Mac OS X Zone at Macworld | iWorld 2012 was xTuple. Wally Tonra reviews their offerings, which include accounting, customer relationship management, purchasing, billing and more. How can any of that be free? xTuple has open source roots which allow you to get started free and add services and capabilities as your business demands change.
