In 2000 a documentary crew follows a disparate group of high school seniors from Greenbelt High School in Austin, TX, as they prepare for graduation, and revisits them ten years later, in 2010, as they return home to rediscover that, just because they’re not where they planned to be, that doesn’t mean they’re not right where they need to be. Actress, writer & producer Charlyne Yi (Paper Heart, Knocked Up) has created a video for OxFam America Hunger Banquet. "I knew I was guilty of being ignorant myself, and when I got an email regarding this video project, it was exactly what I was looking to get involved with," she said. The video encourages us to get up off the couch, learn about others and participate in making the world a better place. ABC’s “The Whole Truth,” which airs Wednesdays @ 10 p.m., employs a unique alternating narrative structure that chronicles the way a case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and the prosecution. Portraying each side equally keeps the audience guessing – shifting allegiances and opinions on guilt or innocence until the final scene. Did you know that one of CBS' most highly touted new fall network TV dramas is based on a reality show that was passed over by Fox? And the reason? It's just possible that it was a bit too hot for the network known for its edgy fare! "The Defenders" (below) stars Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell as a pair of Las Vegas-based criminal lawyers. Teaser ads depict the show as a drama with elements of humor, chronicling the day-to-day adventures of the attorneys as they do battle in and out of the courtroom. In point of fact, Belushi and O'Connell's characters are based on the real-life Michael Cristalli and Marc Saggese, both -- you guessed it -- partners of a Las Vegas-based law firm, whose work on high-profile cases have made national headlines. Fox was intrigued by the reality show pilot, but for reasons still unclear, ultimately decided to pass on it. Given a chance at the project, CBS embraced the bigger-than-life personalities of Cristalli and Saggese, choosing to greenlight a dramatic version of the show instead. And thus, "The Defenders" was born. And here are a couple of interesting tidbits: the same people who shot the reality show serve as executive producers of "The Defenders," while Cristalli and Saggese serve as consultants to the series!
