Drew Friedman, cartoonist, Too Soon? and Old Jewish Comedians | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:00

"Too Soon?" you ask? It's a collection of the last 15 years' worth of Drew Friedman's illustrations, caricatures and portraits lampooning the rich, the famous, the infamous, and the never-will-be-famous. And — promise! — no "Friends." Too Soon? gathers Friedman's best, most strident and scathing work from some of the most popular publications including Time, Newsweek, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, The New Republic, The Weekly Standard, Blab! and more — yes, even Field & Stream. Too Soon? is naturally replete with liver spots, wrinkles, burst capillaries, blood, sweat and tears. No one is spared, no matter which side of the aisle he or she inhabits. Too Soon? is in fact not TOO SOON — it's about time. Friedman’s comic strips and illustrations over the last 30 years have been collected into five anthologies, most recently, Too Soon? (2010) and The Fun Never Stops (2007). His two books of portraiture, Old Jewish Comedians and More Old Jewish Comedians, were both met with critical acclaim. Friedman launches his new book, “Too Soon?” at Desert Island, 540 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY on Friday, Oct. 8th, 7-9PM, Find more original interviews @ Mr. Media Radio • Twitter

ABC’s “The Whole Truth,” which airs Wednesdays @ 10 p.m., employs a unique alternating narrative structure that chronicles the way a case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and the prosecution. Kathryn Peale (Maura Tierney), the product of a New England background and a sheriff father, is a Deputy Bureau Chief in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Jimmy Brogan (Rob Morrow), born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen and a friend of Kathryn’s since their days at Yale Law School, is one of New York’s rising criminal defense attorney stars. As an Emmy and Golden Globe nominee, Rob Morrow is a critically acclaimed actor, writer and director with an established career in television spanning over three decades. One of the brightest acting talents to emerge in recent years, Maura Tierney starred for eight seasons on the top rated series “ER,” for which she received her first Emmy nomination.  Michael Cristalli and Marc Saggese, Las Vegas attorneys, CBS, The Defenders | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:26:00

Did you know that one of CBS' most highly touted new fall network TV dramas is based on a reality show that was passed over by Fox? And the reason? It's just possible that it was a bit too hot for the network known for its edgy fare! "The Defenders" (below) stars Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell as a pair of Las Vegas-based criminal lawyers. Teaser ads depict the show as a drama with elements of humor, chronicling the day-to-day adventures of the attorneys as they do battle in and out of the courtroom. In point of fact, Belushi and O'Connell's characters are based on the real-life Michael Cristalli and Marc Saggese, both -- you guessed it -- partners of a Las Vegas-based law firm, whose work on high-profile cases have made national headlines. Fox was intrigued by the reality show pilot, but for reasons still unclear, ultimately decided to pass on it. Given a chance at the project, CBS embraced the bigger-than-life personalities of Cristalli and Saggese, choosing to greenlight a dramatic version of the show instead. And thus, "The Defenders" was born. And here are a couple of interesting tidbits: the same people who shot the reality show serve as executive producers of "The Defenders," while Cristalli and Saggese serve as consultants to the series! From "Friends" producer Shana Goldberg-Meehan comes “Better with You,” a comedy about three different couples at various stages in their romantic relationships. There's a couple in a happy, long-term relationship and not married. Another couple is in a brand-new relationship and unexpectedly motivated to make a rush to the altar. JoAnna Garcia's recent memorable guest turns include her recurring role as Bree Buckley on the third season of the CW's "Gossip Girl" and her guest starring role as the girl who continues to get away from Josh Radnor on "How I Met Your Mother." She also appeared in the ABC Family telefilm "Revenge of the Bridesmaids," opposite Raven-Symone. Landing the role of Bridget Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2001 spawned Jennifer Finnigan's move to Los Angeles. That role earned her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for three consecutive years, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
