 Ep. 100 – 2 Year Anniversary and Bear vs. Shark Rd 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:35:49

On this very special episode, Geek Revolution Radio not only hits its 100th episode, but we also hit our two year anniversary.  With two years of geeky goodness, we look back at the history of Geek Revolution Radio and how it all came together.  Ryan talks about starting the show on a simple tape recorder, to moving into a big recording studio full of really expensive equipment.  Cindy Bennett, mother extraordinaire, joins Ryan, Will, Ben and Johnny as they all look back at the last two years. When trying to find a good topic for the episode, a need was felt to have an official debate between Will and Ben over the everlong argument of Bear v. Shark. With rules established, and judges to determine a true victor, Will and Ben set out to study up and be ready for anything in what will be a true debate. The base for the debate was this:  Grizzly Bears and Great White Sharks are most likely never to meet, but we establish an environment for them to fight.  The Grizzly Bear is a mother who's cubs have been kidnapped.  The shore of the ocean is made up of 20 feet of shallow water (3-5 feet deep).  After 20 feet there is a sheer drop off of infinite depths.  The cubs have been placed in a cage over the deep drop off.  The shark on the other hand hasn't been feed in months and is exceptionally ready to eat.  This is where the Shark and Bear meet. With this established, Will and Ben have 5 rounds to convince the judges who would win in this fight.  Each given 90 seconds to make their point, and given 30 seconds to rebuttal, the debate was a wild one.  Be sure to listen in for the winner in this fantastic debate of Bear vs Shark.

SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “This Sorrowful Life” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 47:56

On this weeks review of The Walking Dead season 3 episode 15 titled "This Sorrowful Life", the panel discussed the build up Rick was facing in making a choice of sacrifice in order to save the group and the possibly unwanted death of a main character. Without beating around the bush, Merle went from being a creep and a villain, to being quite possibly one of the greatest assets to the group.  Following his heroic actions, Merle faced his demise at the hand of the Governor. This was a huge Daryl driven episode and the ending of this episode left the panel in shock and tears as Daryl was forced to face his greatest fear.

 Ep. 99 – Lost and Cable Television | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:26:35

On this weeks show we started out by getting a review of an Alkaline Trio concert Will went to here in Salt Lake City.   We also got into quite the debate about whether TV is better on Cable (FX, AMC, HBO, etc.) or regular Network TV (NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox) and what factors may contribute to the amazing shows on cable TV in the last few years. The show's main topic was the TV series Lost. Anna Hatton, Will's wife joined us to discuss what we liked about it, what we hated, and why the actor who played John Locke will forever be John Locke. Will and Anna tried to convince Johnny to start the Lost series while Ryan tried to convince him to proceed with caution. You can leave feedback of what you think of the TV series Lost on our Facebook or on Twitter.

SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “Prey” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:05

On this week's show, Ryan, Will and Johnny are joined with the guys over at Stupid Wankers to review episode 14, "Prey".  On this weeks episode, Andrea and The Governor play a game of cat and mouse as Andrea decides she can no longer stay at the prison.  This was one of the better episodes to come out of Woodbury.  With just two more episodes left, the guys discussed what has happened so far this season and what needs to happen season 3 wraps up.

 Ep. 98 – Dexter | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:25:43

On this weeks show Ryan, Will Ben, and Johnny, along with special guest Sascha Blume, discuss their favorite television show about a serial killer...Dexter.  There is nothing like a lovable serial killer, and Dexter provides everything a geek could love.       Will started off the show giving a review of Oz: The Great and Powerful.  Although Will thought it was an alright film, it definitely fell short in certain areas.  Using A Good Day to Die Hard as a base line of mediocrity, Oz was slightly better.  The bonus for seeing it 3D was being able to catch the latest Iron Man 3 and Jurassic Park trailers. During the Star Wars News, Ryan professed his displeasure in the Clone Wars series being cancelled.  With such a great show to be shut down, Ryan hopes this will give rise to a live action series later down the road.  Ryan also discussed the closeness Disney and Lucas Films are to announcing Carry Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford will be in the new trilogy. During a special interview, Johnny sat down with Leesa Dean, writer, creator and animator for the hit online video series Chilltown TV.  Chilltown TV is a funny, hip-hop oriented animated comedy, which is based off a comic book.  Johnny and Leesa discussed all the things that go into making the series and how it has been since she started the series.  Go to http://www.chilltownonline.com/ for more on Chilltown or follow the series on Twitter @chilltowntv The show surrounded Dexter, a great series on Showtime that follows the life of a likable serial killer.  Discussing the many great aspects of the show, the guys didn't hesitate to give dexter great acclaim.

SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “Arrow on the Doorpost” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:40

Geek Revolution Radio's review of Season 3 Episode 13 "Arrow on the Doorpost"

Ep. 97 – Student Government and Our Favorite Movies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:18:16

On this special episode, Ryan, Will and Johnny take the show on the road...well sort of.  During a special event on the campus of the University of Utah, the guys did a live broadcast to support the voting efforts of Utah's student government elections.  Although they were outside and cold, they definitely didn't miss a beat.  Talking about everything from the two parties on campus who are running, to how good The Walking Dead has been this season, Ryan, Will and Johnny made it fun. During the "Airing of Grievances" Ryan opened it with his displeasure of AMC firing another executive producer and showrunner for the Walking Dead and bringing in a new guy.  Glen Mazzara had been leading the show after Frank Darabont left midway through season 2.  Going into season 4, The Walking Dead will have it's third showrunner in Scott Gimple.  Although Robert Kirkman gives Gimple praise for the new position, whether or not it will be smooth will have to wait to be seen in season 4 They continued on to some of "Our Favorite Movies", where they reviewed older movies that don't get enough recognition any more.  Will presented The Mist, a film based off of a Stephen King story.  Johnny talked about The Departed, a classic cops vs. gangster film set in Boston. Ryan presented one of his favorites, Boondock Saints, which is a great shoot em' up film.

SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “Clear” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:03

On this week's review of The Walking Dead season 3 Episode 12 'Clear', Ryan, Will and Johnny discuss the incredible episode where Rick, Michonne and Carl head back to Rick's hometown for a special run.  This was an episode of character development for all three characters, as well an important push for the story. They discussed the special reunion with an old friend of Rick's.  This reunion is an important part of the story and the state that Rick has found himself in.

 SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “I Ain’t a Judas” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:42

On this weeks review of the Walking Dead, Ryan, Will, Ben and Johnny discuss this weeks episode "I Ain't a Judas".  With the conditions at the prison growing grave and tensions growing between Andrea and the Governor, this episode was full of drama.  With the reintroduction of Merle to the prison group and the devastating attack from the week before, this episode was full of tension and angry people. The guys also talking about the ever popular thery by Will that someone on the show is getting raped and someone is getting a hand cut off.  Like in the comic book, when Rick and Michonne go back to Woodbury, the two scenarios happen.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out. They also discuss who the "Judas" is, referring to the title of the episode.  Is it Andrea? is it Merle?  What do you think?

 Ep. 95 – The Die Hard Legacy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:25:36

On this weeks show, we officially induct Johnny into our fellowship of geekhood and make him a full time cohost.  Will started out the show talking about the search for a great burger.  There was much discussion about where that burger is in SLC.  Where is that burger in your home town?  We want to know. They moved on from burger talk to more pressing issues, and that is the messed up process for ticket purchase of Comic-Con passes.  During our "Airing of Grievance" Ryan really hammered the leadership of Comic-Con .  Is it time the 'Con' moves to Vegas?  Ryan definitely laid out a better solution while venting of his lack of tickets to San Diego. They closed out the show talking about the Die Hard series, talking about the movies we love and the ones that shouldn't have been made.  The original Die Hard will always be a classic, but he others aren't all a waste.  Much debate was had over which is the worst and which was the best following the original. They then discussed the new movie A Good Day to Die Hard, which was an absolute waste.  Save your money folks, which was a below average film with overly done action sequences and poor acting.  Although Bruce Will is may be an icon, he is also heading down the path Nicolas Cage is on.

SPECIAL: The Walking Dead Weekly Review “Home” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:47

On this week's review of The Walking Dead, we review episode 10 "Home".  With the tensions rising in Woodbury, Daryl and Merle on their own, and Rick visiting Looneytown, this episode gave fans a lot as we see the war begin to rise.  We talked about the episode started with Glenn trying to fill the shoes of Rick and his crazy episode, and how he isn't quite the leader.  We also talked about how the episode ended with a crazy "bang".

Ep. 94 – The Hot Stove of Life | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:32:44

The main topic on this weeks show is the hot stove of life - a baseball term that we put a geek spin on. We explore the things in Geek culture that are both heavily followed and highly anticipated, much similar to MLB fans who wait through the "hot stove" of the off season. We read your listener feedback based on these Star Wars Episode VII fan-made movie posters that have recently surfaced: And of course this weeks show wouldn't be complete without a FULL STRENGTH Nerd Corner with Ben as well as an Airing of Grienvances concerning AMC's AWFUL Thursday night lineup.

Ep. 93 – Back to the Future Trilogy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:23:43

On this weeks episode, Ben, Ryan and Will, along with special guest local SLC comedian Johnny McKeon, discussed one of the greatest film trilogies of all time and space, Back to the Future.  From the classic first film, to the old western of a third film, the guys hash through our favorite moments from all three films.   They started the show off talking about geek news, The Walking Dead coming back from break, and how Breaking Bad is shaping up to be the greatest moment on TV.  Geek news was followed up with Star Wars news and how a stand alone movie is on the way, and it very well may be a 'Yoda' film.  They discussed how cool it will be to get a back story for one the galaxies greatest Jedi Master, as well as the idea of other stand alone films.  One such film would be the back story for Boba Fett, and his relationship with Han Solo. They shifted gear for the "Airing of Grievance" and hashed out some of the worst offenses our society has to offer.  Between excessive bumper stickers and the Oreo cookie wars, our grievances have been aired. All and all, between Back to the Future and Star Wars, the guys really geeked out!  Look for the Walking Dead review of episode 9 of season 3 on Monday Feb 11th.
