In college, Jim often engaged in church-bashing with friends. He majored in psychology, which led him to work as a school counselor. His first marriage was a self-described train wreck and it wasnt until he was older that Jim met his now-wife, Toni. He married her with the ultimatum that they would never attend or discuss church. But at age 69, Jim heard of Jesus love through a television preacher and he gave his heart to the Lord. Toni soon followed and they now love church and serve the Lord joyfully.

Bonnie worked hard to please them, seeking to achieve high scores in school and church activities. But it didnt seem to be enough, and Bonnie was made to feel that she was a disappointment. When her birth mother re-entered her life, she introduced her to alcohol only to abandon her again when Bonnie was molested by her stepfather. From there, Bonnie began smoking and drinking to numb the pain; a pattern that continued well into adulthood and through her first two marriages. She became a mom to two boys, but it wasnt until one of them issued an ultimatum that she finally got clean. She ended up marrying her old (now-sober) drinking buddy, and though their marriage got off to a rocky start, they are now walking with the Lord through recovery.

Becoming bed-ridden from a fall in her 60s, Amy took to writing and sharing with the world, Indias deep spiritual need.

Their oldest daughter, Heidi, was especially gifted and bright; often leading, writing, reading and creating plays for their church. Perfectionism and anxiety started to creep in as she grew older and when she went to college, she was debilitated by insecurity and fear. After a semester at home, she returned to finish college and soon after, she married Daniel and started a family. They had two boys, Enoch and Ethan. Though Heidi was a loving mother, postpartum depression plunged her further into isolation, and she unsuccessfully attempted to take her life when Ethan was only a few months old. After four months of counseling, prayer, and the close watchfulness of her family, Heidi made the decision to take her oldest son Enoch and step in front of a truck. She was killed instantly, but Enoch was miraculously saved. The family is grieving and hurting, yet they are thankful to see God touch thousands of lives through her story.
